    Wow per Gen Milley, Biden decided on this specific withdrawal plan in April with threats and contingencies, then in June they scraped the Trump program designed to help get citizens abroad out of dangerous situations. WTH is this idiot doing, how dumb can you f'ing be. Now the pentagon is saying they have no idea how many Americans are in Afghanistan.

    A bureau set up by Mike Pompeo under President Trump to help Americans abroad was discontinued after a memo was passed and signed in June by the Biden administration.

    The Contingency and Crisis Response Bureau, or CCR, was created during the Trump presidency by former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in October 2020.

    It was meant to provide 'aviation, logistics, and medical support capabilities for the Department's operational bureaus, thereby enhancing the secretary's ability to protect American citizens overseas in connection with overseas evacuations in the aftermath of a natural or man-made disaster,'

    Three cheers to anyone to disbands a federal agency. It wouldn't have mattered given the facts on the ground.

    NOTHING was "Disbanded"...

    The Bureau was only PROPOSED (pending approval and funding).

    And, it would NOT have been functional until 12 to 18 months (at the earliest).

    THUS:

    How could it have helped the current situation in Afghanistan?

    LOL of course not tell us again why? Pentagon said today they don't even know how many americans are there. We're now told the state department is sending more people over to process another little thing we forgot.

    True. I rarely read the nonsensical garbage people link on this site. But I'm certainly disappointed that the agency survived disbanding.
