Actually, Biden referring to Xi Jinping as a "dictator" is very possibly the most truthful, accurate thing that he's uttered in years! But, as everyone in "polite" society knows, you just don't SAY things like that out loud, unless you're a senile old halfwit who happens to occupy the highest office in a seat of government.

Yes! That's EXACTLY how it's done. The Secretary of State does the "ugly" work, and the President of the United States stands for democracy! Has it been this long since the last time we had a REAL president like Obama that people forgot? Well... today you learned a bit about how diplomacy works.

 

I'm trying hard to look at this "standing-for-Democracy" thing as it relates to Barack Obama, and I'm not coming up with anything of substance. You are pretty darned good at explaining your point of view, so I'd sincerely like to ask you what you mean when you praise Obama for "standing for democracy". Where? When? How? With what result?

I'm not praising Obama in particular. I'm just saying that before Trump ALL presidents of this country were expected to stand up for democracy the same way that Biden is doing now. That changed with Trump who actually praised dictators.
