But the gullible will eat it up. That's where this country is today, I bet they don't put up anything! They will show a hundred yards of five year old wall and sell as newly build and the brain trained will cheer and resume their stagnation Intraweb would..

Mayorkas backtracks on Texas border wall hours after DHS cites 'immediate need'

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Thursday backtracked from Biden administration statements made this week that cited the need to waive dozens of federal laws to build a border wall in South Texas.

"I want to address today’s reporting relating to a border wall and be absolutely clear," he said in a statement. "There is no new Administration policy with respect to border walls. From day one, this Administration has made clear that a border wall is not the answer."

I am married to a hispanic woman, and know many others. Not a single one of them is for illegal immigration, so counting on them to vote D because of it is a mistake. However, as I keep saying, and it keeps getting blown off (because there is no good answer and nobody wants to admit I'm right), it is so very easy for a non-citizen to get registered to vote in this country, that single fact alone makes me not trust our electoral process even if every single other thing is legit.

You make the same point many of us have. Illegal folks do get government IDs, and as a function of several states policies, they may also be automatically registered to vote at the same time. Of course democrats put these policies in place on the off chance that these folks would be voting for them, or worse, that they would simply collect their mail in ballots and vote for them......

It's not even a matter of getting ID (though, as you point out, in many places that, too, is trivially easy and in some of them, flat out legal, which seems to violate federal law, not that they care...), but there is a FEDERAL form that can be downloaded, filled in, and sent to your State. Each State has different addresses (obvi) and requires different information, but NONE require any sort of proof of citizenship. The closest that a few (but only a few) get to that is requesting the last 4 of your SSN, but then they say that "None" is an acceptable answer, not to mention even if they make up a random 4-digit number, there's no way to verify it one way or another. The most ID most of them require is a utility bill in your name for... something. I wonder if my YouTubeTV subscription bill would count, eh?

Not to mention that the form is available in 28 different languages, and any effort made to question someone (like say, a suspicion that someone may be a Chinese spy based on their name, language, place of origin, or whatever) would likely result in that person losing their job, there is ZERO way to spot check or enforce it in any way. It is literally possible we have millions of illegals on the voter rolls and unless and until we purge them and require proof of citizenship to reregister (which we should do either immediately or after the next election, though we know neither will happen), we have no way to know, no way to check, no way to investigate.

But no, we can't check ID, that's raycist!
