Biden Not Only Reason for Dems To Panic

    upload_2024-4-7_19-54-16.png

'the Republican Party is showing signs of waking up from its long uniparty slumber and recognizing that fighting back is the best way to win an election.'

It's long past time for the Republicans to fight back.

'The new leadership of the GOP opted to partner with community activist Scott Presler to increase voter registration and legal ballot harvesting in battleground states. Presler, the co-founder of Gays for Trump, goes by the handle #ThePersistence on social media, and his support for Donald Trump and MAGA has seen him travel tirelessly in pursuit of every legal Republican vote he can find. Last month, he was registering members of the Amish community in Pennsylvania. Brilliant!'

Trumpism is strong with the Buggy vote.

'But it was Charlie Kirk’s campaign to change how Nebraska allocates its six electoral votes that brought into sharp focus how this is no longer Ronna Romney McDaniels’ Republican Party. Last week, Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, used his podcast to push for passage of legislation that would give all of the state’s electoral votes to the statewide winner in presidential elections. Currently, the state allocates some of its votes based on the winner in congressional districts, allowing Democrats to pick up one elector in the Omaha district despite Nebraska being a solidly red state overall.'

That could make a big difference.

'Within hours after Kirk proposed the change, President Trump had endorsed it and more importantly, the Republican governor of Nebraska (Jim Pillen) had agreed to sign the bill if it made it to his desk.'

A very good idea. But, with only two weeks left in the session, they may not get it done this year.

I do like these beginning signs of newer scrappier Republicans 'taking leadership of the Republican Party away from the Old Guard.'

'No wonder Democrats are panicking. If they lose their upper hand in recruiting new voters, turning out the early vote and seizing every opportunity to improve their chances for victory in battleground states, then the electoral map could very possibly transform into a landslide victory for Trump and the Republicans.'

Too many Democrats have sown the wind,
Now they need to reap the whirlwind.

Read the whole thing and discuss.

Hate to break it to you but it will NOT make a big difference. It's immoral. And it's also yet more evidence that Republicans perceive that they are going to lose, and they are willing to do ANYTHING to make Trump a dictator. And democrats SHOULD do all they can to stop this new assault on our democracy. But Nebraska is not going to make much of a difference.

Actually, it's the difference between a Bribed Joe victory and a Contingent Election in the House, which Bribed Joe will likely lose, if Bribed Joe takes MI, WI, and PA and Trump takes the rest of the battle ground states.

Yeah, right, using the exact same method as 48 other states if "immoral" if it works against Bribed Joe.

It's immoral to change it without consulting the voters.

It's a representative democracy. If you find representative democracy "immoral" you may want to move. You live in a representative democracy.

The Constitution directly alots to the State Legislature the power to determine how ECV will be allotted. You can look it up for yourself. You claim in your tagline that you look up everything, but apparently failed to do so, on this subject.

How their votes are counted is a decision that should be left to the voters. Legislators tweaking elections to favor their candidate would be immoral. It's unlikely it will happen anyway. It was voted down 8-36.

    Hold the F'n phone.

When Dems "harvest ballots" it was cheating, but when repubs do it, it's "legal ballot harvesting"....ok....got it.....

Wait, I thought that was "cheating" in the last election ? Thats what you and your claimed...so why is it not now ?

Says the guy who supports stripping Bribed Joe's opponent of his assets and jailing him? Ironic.

Fake News. Republicans have never had an effective ballot harvesting operation in states where it is legal, whereas Dems have. If you want to hold the f'n phone over it, have a blast.

Ballot harvesting is not legal anywhere in the United States. It is a Federal crime.

Perhaps you can tell us all about the “effective ballot harvesting operation”……

when you get done backing up your claims, I will share a real ballot harvesting operation, one which had been going on for years.

What is the purpose of this thread?

    The scheme was voted down.

I guess the noise machine is trying to change the outcome..

    Fake News.

    https://duckduckgo.com/?q=Where+ballot+harvesting+is+legal&ia=web
There is information on that in the provided link. If you want more, look it up.
I already demolished your claim that ballot harvesting is illegal in all fifty states, and it took all of about 20 seconds and a search bar. Your claim went down faster than a Kamala lookalike at a Truckstop.

That could be true, but, it also could be true that the old guard GOP, the Bushites is losing power to the new GOP, much like the old Rockefeller GOP lost power to the Reaganites, but unfortunately Reagan chose GHW Bush for VP and they took control of the GOP after the Reagan era passed.

There is a major difference between what y our links describe and the practice you’re insinuating without evidence again) Democrats are doing.

Few states prohibit filled out and signed ballots from being delivered by a third party.

However, it becomes a crime when that third party goes around soliciting people to sign ballots without filling them out.

That’s what illegal ballot harvesting is.

Dispite you baseless insinuations, there has only been one case of it in the last ten years

Your vulgar and racist simile notwithstanding.

An example of legal ballot harvasting: bring them a ballot for them to fill out.

An example of illegal ballot harvasting: fill out a ballot for them.

Theres prolly more examples. But the point is that both happen.

Again, thats the point of my post. There was never any evidence of “illegal” ballot harvesting, yet the insinuation from the right is that “harvesting” allowed the ability to cheat, therefore must be stopped….

I am surprised harvesting isn't more common given how much fertilizer is spread around in politics.

Can the GOP Finally Figure Out GOTV?

It looks like we finally have the beginnings of a Fighting GOP that more closely reflects the 1994 GOP that was quickly reabsorbed and castrated by the Bush, Romney, McCain and McConnell folks.

“Elections are about more than issues though. They’re about how well individual campaigns and national parties execute the fundamentals. I will freely admit that I’ve had my frustrations over the years with how the Grand Old Party goes about that. The party was particularly awful under Ronna Romney McDaniel’s extended reign of ineptitude.”

If so, another reason for Biden and the Dems to worry.

'Bartiromo asked Whatley where the GOP would allocate the funds from the massive haul. "We are going to spend every single dollar that we raise on two key critical core missions for the RNC, which are getting out the vote and protecting the ballot," replied the chair. "And we're going to make sure that we are focusing on the battleground states and districts where we need to be competitive and making sure that every dollar that we raise is going to be putting lead on target."'

'Let's pause for a moment to appreciate the clarity and correctness of that strategy. This is what we on the right have been clamoring for: election integrity and matching the left's massive ballot-harvesting machine (whenever it's legal to do so).'

You said that "Ballot Harvesting" was illegal everywhere, it's not. Now you are trying to avoid falsification by using special terms. Sad!

Biden's not the only reason Dems have to panic.

Trump, RFK Jr. and the Disillusioned Black Voter (access from RealClearPolitics to avoid paywall)

Nightmare for the racialists among the Democrats. Folks are voting class, not skin color.

Working-class minorities are less concerned with identity politics: they are very concerned with the economy.

This sentence is equally true and uses less words.

Working-class minorities are less concerned with identity politics: they are very concerned with the economy.

'Significant percentages of black and Latino working-class men moved away from the Democratic Party in 2020. Polls show them continuing to drift in that direction and voting more like working-class whites.'

'A Morning Consult survey this week showed that the share of the black vote with a favorable view of Mr. Kennedy had climbed to 51% from 38% in polling conducted before and after he chose Nicole Shanahan as his running mate last month.'

Bidenflation is cruel to all of us, and especially the working folks.

'the working-class blacks and Hispanics who are abandoning Democrats don’t otherwise resemble the typical MAGA voter. They aren’t especially enamored of Mr. Trump, and most aren’t ideologically aligned with the former president. Instead, the rift has been opened by a deep disaffection with the state of the economy as it relates to their everyday lives. For college-educated voters, inflation is more of an annoyance. For the working class, it’s a much bigger deal.'

    As in Yuge Deal.
