Biden's son's high priced sale of art raises big ethics concerns

President Biden's son, Hunter, has been painting "abstract" art paintings and selling them for very large amounts of money to anonymous buyers.

This raises what should be obvious ethical concerns. To state it very bluntly, it could be a scheme to launder money, with President Biden using his position to take bribes and having the money go to his son.

It is highly suspicious and more than a little bit questionable that Hunter has suddenly taken up professional painting, and that there are buyers willing to pay so much for his paintings.
There is a joke in the art world that anyone can slap some paint on a canvas and call it "abstract art".

Even compared with professional and famous abstract artists, Biden's paintings are selling for what seems to be much larger excessive amounts.

This comes after the Ukrainian Burisma scandal where Biden was accused of using his position as then Vice President to have money be given to Hunter.

Of course, this could just be a huge coincidence and maybe Hunter really has found his niche as a professional abstract artist.

The president's son has been painting since he was a child and, while he has no formal training, Biden has taken a serious focus to his work and is now creating art full-time.

Even without formal training, Biden's pieces carrying five- to six-figure price tags put his work in the same range as established artists in the field.

The first son's first foray into the art world has seen his pieces picked up by art dealer Georges Berges, who has priced the younger Biden's artwork between $75,000 and $500,000 depending on the size and scope of the collage artwork.

That's a pretty big haul when compared to other artists' first sales. In fact, Biden’s pieces are worth more than a piece by Jean-Michel Basquiat that sold for $20,900 in 1984 - $53,770 in today's dollars after adjusting for inflation.

A piece by famed abstract artist Andy Warhol sold for $725,000 at a New York auction, only $225,000 more than one of the pieces by the president's son.

Hunter Biden's art to sell as high as $500K and the buyers will be kept 'confidential' | Fox Business

And now suddenly Hunter Biden is selling abstract paintings for $500,000 a piece to unknown nefarious donors and those donors will remain confidential. In comparison, an average Salvador Dali painting can cost a mere $50,000. Something smells rotten in Denmark. Of course, Hunter’s resume of zero experience continues to land him the big money from the big guy. As Hunter has zero experience as a painter.

Just how stupid does the Biden crime family think the American people are? But if they get away with this, they can absolutely get away with anything.

Hunter Biden’s Treasonous Art Grift (infowars.com)

Some people are saying that because he is the President's son, that adds fame and value to his work.
That seems like a very weak excuse. This is the son of the President, not the President himself. And Biden is not a particularly well-loved or popular President; people mainly voted for him because they did not like Trump. Usually the belongings or works of politicians do not hold high amounts of value unless they are related to the issue of politics in some way.

This does seem highly questionable and is something that should be looked at with scrutiny.

Are you jealous that an artist can make it in the big time?

Bill and Hillary Clinton made big money for public speaking.

I don't have any suspicion that there is something shady about it.

Bullcrap. It's happening while Biden is in office. Can't you understand the difference? The Clinton's made money after Bill's presidency ended.

A drug addicted moron who never painted anything in his life suddenly selling crap for insane prices to unnamed buyers? This is the most corrupt thing I have ever seen.

So, the family of the President can't make a lot of money? What about Trump's children running his business empire when he was President?

I cannot help you if you can't see the difference. Trump's kids ran an existing brick and mortar business!!!!! Biden son is just crapping out colored excrement to sell his father's influence.

Did Trump only do business with anonymous people? It does not even pass the giggle test and you don't care.

By the way who is an artist?

It takes a lot of gall to post something like that.

this is status quo with politicians and their families.

We didn't care when Michelle was paid 317 "large" ( https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/ct-xpm-2006-09-27-0609270216-story.html ) per year for basically a no-show job when Barry was Senator in the state. THat all-important job wasn't filled when Obama became potus

it's called politics and Democrats know how to play the system

Do they have any kind of evidence that money laundering is going on? Like . . . real evidence, not just, "I have feeeeeeeelings that this is bad"?

Never mind, turns out your "source" is the lunatic Info Wars, who claims that the CIA is putting chemicals in the water to make frogs gay. No, I don't buy this for a second. Come back when you are capable of discussing facts with real sources. Come back with something better than . . .

Well, yes, it's very suspicious. But where's the evidence? Oh, right! The buyers are anonymous so there is no evidence.

But it doesn't bother me. I love it when someone makes it big under our system! :)

Maybe if you scrape the "paint" off the canvas and fire it up, you get a really good buzz.

Buyers are always anonymous the high price art world. It's the norm and therefore not in any way suspicious in and off itself. Which is why it has been used in past for money laundering and why Western authorities are clamping down on the 'anonymity' aspect as I write.

You or someone else thinks its a front for influence peddling or similar? Fine report it to the DoJ. Failing that? This is nothing more than another bout of character assassination. As long as Biden's President nothing his family might do will escape criticism from some circles (guess which ones). And yes the same thing happened when Trump was in office. Some of that criticism was fully warranted mind you - in particular cases. But a lot wasn't.

    So facts not innuendo please.

I have my doubts whether Hunter is really the artist who actually created these paintings that are being sold.

They might have contracted with some other person who had at least some semblance of artistic talent, paid that artist a large sum of money to stay quiet, and then passed those paintings off as the work of Hunter.

Which says more about your mind set than my comment. The point (which you seem unable to grasp) is that if someone (in this case Bridget) thinks its unethical for anyone in the Biden family to make money off the family name it must by default be unethical for other Presidential families to do the same - including the Trump family. And that's assuming this is what the art sales have been (influence/name peddling etc) because so far no evidence has been provided to support that contention. It might be, it might not be - some evidence one way or the other would be nice. (And yes, it is unethical conduct if the art sales are in fact some form influence peddling.)

But if you think the above doesn't hold true? Fine, you end up in a situation where the Republican side of politics gets held to a different (lower?) ethical standard than the Democrat side.

So which of the above is it. The same standard or a different one?

And the left went ape-#### when they rented rooms to foreign officials. Even though at the same price as anyone else and we all knew who they rented to. ESTABLISHED businesses. Has Hunter Biden ever sold a painting in the past? Ever for $500,000.

You really accept this as ethical behavior? Why is the White House insisting the amounts paid and by whom be hidden from the public?

Seeing how his emails show how Joe benefits from Hunter paying for Joe’s expenses we have a parallel of the NY charges against Trump employees except the focus is actually the President.

You have no suspicion of the WH organizing a secret sale of Hunters ‘artwork’?

Touché! But I never cared that foreign officials stayed at Trump's hotels.

Anyway, art is a democrat darling. There is always a little money set aside for the creative side of things. And, I heard that Hunter Biden has been painting since he was a child. And, being related to the President of the USA gives his work some value as a collector's item. I don't know why they are hiding the names, but I think another poster in this thread says that artist sales are typically anonymous.
