Plenty of self-defense options to teenagers. They can carry pepper spray, or some chemical spray can. They can carry a stun gun (with a strap attached to their wrist). They can carry a cigarette lighter (very effective), and even just a ball-point pen (stick it in the eye of the attacker and watch how fast the attack stops). I realize this might be a bit tougher when there are 3 assailants at once, but often when the first one is knocked on his butt, howling in pain, the others quickly lose their bravado (which was only because they outnumbered their victim). Also, if a kid knows he's being targeted, he could arrange to stay off the school bus and get rides, or buddy-up with friends so he's not a lone target. Myself, I'd suggest the stun gun/cigarette lighter combo. When those fists start coming at you, they're in perfect position to be stunned and/or burned.

It might also help if the media would include in their media coverage, all the times that these punks get the hell beaten out of them in the jail, and remind the ones still out on the street that these imbeciles are looking at 15 hard years of lockup.

 

You apparently didn't read my post. I was replying to another user talking about sending his/her 11 year old to school armed.

Moreover...no teen can legally take a gun to school. Do you grasp this concept? They and their parent would face serious and life altering legal consequences.

 

Again I'm not siding with the assailants but pepper spray and stun guns aren't allowed inside of schools, not to mention stun guns are illegal in many states.

I think that these laws need to be reworked some to allow law abiding citizen to have these items, but that's not a perfect system as it opens the door for the ill intended to legally carry them as well.

 

It was primarily the black bus driver's fault and he was reluctant to intervene when a fight broke out just behind him. He should have stopped the bus and done something to defuse the situation but he negligently breached his duty of care. The incident was also drug-related violence and one of the three boys tried to sell drugs to the victim prior to the bus attack.

Trayvon is in Hug a Thug heaven, proud that he has become a role model for Black youth. If his fans don't get off because they have been oppressed for 400 years, or even if they do get off, they probably won't live that 15 years. They'll be joining St. Trayvon and playing Hip Hop on harps.

 

I also suggest having steel-toed shoes. Kick a bully in the shins, then break a limb. It will be especially gratifying if the punk is an athlete and the intended victim costs him a college scholarship.

I still think it would be good for the law-abiding kids to have some self-defense weapons. As far as the ill intended, I see the solution for them as the same as I've seen it for about 60 years now. Recorder Cameras monitored by armed, trained, licensed security guards, and swift action when anybody gets out of line. Schools (and their buses) are notoriously security lax. You'd think things would have gotten better after all the Newtowns, Amish girls, Virginia Tech, etc shootings. School bus drivers should be armed as well as teachers too. There's only one thing criminals respect >> SUPERIOR FORCE.

 

Another good self-defense weapon. I like metal-studded wristbands too. Watch what happens when those fists land on those sharp metal studs. Especially gratifiying to know the fist cuts would self-inflicted as a result of their own violent actions.

1. You shouldn't even be using a word like "snitch". That's a word that criminals use to villainize people who bravely stand up and REPORT < this is the correct word) criminal activity. Are you a criminal ? If not, don't use that word. Not ever.

2. It's absolutely UNTRUE that nobody likes a REPORTER. Police like them, and depend upon them. The citizens who get protected by that reporting, like REPORTERS. And security guards whole foundation of work is to OBSERVE & REPORT, which they do every day, and continue to do for years. And we're lucky they are there doing it, to protect us from murderers, rapists, burglars, car thieves, muggers, arsonists, etc.

Nonsense! The bus driver is a senior citizen, 64 years old, and you expect him to take on 3 tough 16 year olds, all in tip top shape and very aggressive ? Are you nuts ? What should have been is the bus driver should have be armed with a gun, well-trained for it, and those filthy punks should have been shot like Trayvon Martin. Perfect example of how improper it is to not have guns ready to fire.

If the kid or the bus driver had a gun (as it should have been) those 3 piles of sh-t would be taking a dirtnap right now, along with their counterpart, Trayvon Martin. They THEY would have gotten what THEY deserved. But they're up for 15 years in the big house, so I suspect they're going to be mincemeat once they get there.

the idea of kids packing is insane. Ride the bus with him if you think necessary, but a kid doesn't pack.

Of course, that can't be either. Basically, if a kid needs a gun on a bus, he doesn't get on the bus.
