After 24 years of Democrat rule, NYC was a mess with 2000 murders per year ---
Rudy Giuliani comes along after 1993 and, in his 8 year term-limited tenure, reduced the murder rate from 2000 to 649 in 2001.

With the contrast clear in the voters' minds, lifelong Democrat Bloomberg latches on to Giuliani's coat tails and becomes a Republican. In his 8 year time-limited tenure, Bloomberg only managed capture some of the Guiliani magic, ending in 2009 with a murder rate of 471. Along the way, in 2007, in an effort to wash out the contrast between Democrat and Republican mayors, Bloomberg converted to Independent.

Bloomberg bought a 3rd term in his new party, delivering an unspectacular average murder rate over those additional 4 years of 448 per year.

In 2018, Bloomberg returned to the roots he left to appropriate Giuliani's successful run as NYC mayor.

Bloomberg initiated the Stop and Frisk in NY that he claimed to have inherited in the debate.

My guess is that Bloomberg is done. He got hammered in his first debate - and has way too much baggage.

Nah. He's putting his eggs in the brokered convention basket.

Sure but he has to actually make it that far - which is doubtful IMO.

Hillary will swoop in like the vulture she is and pick the bones clean of the candidates in case of a brokered convention. Hillary/Michelle 2020 the nightmare ticket.

What do you mean by, "make it that far"? Money is all that's needed. He bought off the # of donors requirement to get on stage the other day. He could be the only nominee ever to not have earned a delegate in the first round.

Bloomberg is learning that money can’t buy love. Trump learned that a while ago but ran against Hitler woman

Do you realize that very few people watch the debates, and even fewer watch political entertainment on cnn & mslsd? Most :democrat: only know what they see in his tv ads. He'll be around awhile.

Bloomberg needs to garner a significant amount of votes going forward - which means not coming in 5th place like he is looking to place in Nevada - on a regular basis.

I just don't think his campaign is going to catch fire -and think it is all downhill for him from here.

Perhaps - but word gets out - one way or the other. He will be around for awhile yet - but I doubt he will be around much past Super Tuesday - if Nevada is any indication.

We will see what happens in Nevada.

The other day I head someone say, "Billionaire Bloomberg is using his money to buy the election but the other candidates are using our money to buy the election".

20M supposedly watched this debate, likely to see Bloomberg. Since he bombed out, the number will probably drop back to the normal --- less than 3M.
