They are asking how and why it happened.... the story is unfolding and we don't know the extent. According to sources currently staying unnamed, a smoking gun has been uncovered. No proof yet. NSA whistleblower(s) playing ball and are very helpful, FBI not so much at this point.

It's looking more and more like political espionage perpetrated by the Obama Administration. He has been caught doing it in the past, by the way.

Lose. I despise spying, especially if it is done on American citizens. It's against the constitution to do so. We have no privacy.

Yea I guess if Barry didn't wire tap in personally he can never be held accountable for anything. Let's all just use that same approach when talking about OUR beloved president.

Until such proof exists, it is a lie. He made the accusation, gave no reference as to where he got such an accusation and no investigation to date has give credence to his accusation.

Do you actually believe that throwing $54 billion at a Pentagon that squanders $125 billion only impacts two individuals?

Of course, such matters - as well as hysterical tweety episodes - has far wider, inclusive implications.

What bothers me, in addition to what you said, is that the former Administration used the NSA, CIA and the FBI to spy on their political opponents during an election. They rigged the primary elections, colluded with MSM during the Presidential elections and now it is looking like they tried everything they could to undermine the current Administration during the election and even after he won and was taking office.

It's a complete disgrace and abuse of power.

To hell with them all. If they endorse spying, they should burn. Bush II, Obama, and if Trump endorses it, him too. The Patriot Act was the largest invasion of privacy in this country ever.

I still haven't seen direct evidence Obama wiretapped Trump Tower (thus dismissing Trump's claim) but the fact that Americans were spied on by our government is outrageous.

I am also outraged that Russians have hacked our process.

    I am just....

outraged. Our government is just... it's just ****ing awful.

I believe the Dems have made yet another dunderheaded move.

From now on the POTUS can legally spy on his political opponents. Enjoy Trump sitting in on every Dem strategy meeting.

If that's what it is then the responsible people should do time. I'm still very skeptical that that's what we're seeing, but who knows?

It really bothers me personally, that the left is OK with this spying on Trump because of their opposition to him. It just really ****ing bothers me.

It's hypocritical. The left railed against the patriot act when it was passed, but now it's "We're ok with it because Donald."

It's an outrage. I am all for keeping foreign influence and money out of our democratic process, and if Trump's campaign colluded with Russia pre election to Russia's benefit, I think they should have their asses nailed to the wall.

But so should those doing spying. The NSA and FBI and CIA routinely dash our rights against the rocks.

The Democrats and the MSM are trying desperately to bury this and are trying to spin it into Russian collusion. We will know more as facts unfold. This about as close to a coup attempt as we have had by the democrats as I have ever seen. They did everything they could to cheat, lie and steal the election and they still lost. Now, the losers are being exposed.

Had they won, it would have all remained buried and we would be looking at impeaching Clinton for her role in taking cash from foreign governments in return for favors.

Nunes made clear that his concerns stem from intelligence collected after the election. What would the political motive be for this?

It's illegal, and there is no evidence of any POTUS having ever done it.

If Trump attempts to initiate such surveillance, he will be impeached.

To undermine the incoming Administration. They were gathering intel during the election as well. I guarantee it.

Uh, Watergate certainly disproves your no evidence quote....

Confusion seems to be reigning. Now the Republicans cancel open house hearings on the Russia scandal.

What the **** is going on here?

Huh? He implemented new rules? So it's both illegal and legal?

The poster is trying to say Watergate made spying illegal, but Patriot Act made it legal. Does this make it a gray area?

These criminals in Washington are out of line.
