Not one child has ever died from a mass book reading and yet Republicans spend more time trying to restrict books in schools than guns.
I'd be interested in the statistics on homosexual kids converting to heterosexuality as a direct result of a book they read. Banning books based upon sexuality says that one child is worth protecting over another.

We have to start reducing the number of guns that exist. We need to have a 50 year goal to cut the number of guns that exist by 50%. Maybe once we have more people than guns, we can start to have meaningful laws to prevent shootings. Every gun used in a crime was produced and sold legally. It didn't appear in the hands of a criminal out of thin air.

yea, we need to start having the right conversations. We need to reduce the number of guns. We can either start talking about amending the constitution, or accept that shootings are going to become more and more common. At some point the 2nd amendment is going away. Maybe no in our lifetimes, but it will go away once kids who've grown up having drills for mass shootings are in their 60s, they aren't going to care about the 2nd amendment. There isn't any point in having that conversation today though, too many people think the 2nd amendment is protecting them from something. Eventually most of those idiots are going to be dead and gone.

Gun control is predicated on the assumption that a the body of a dead woman, raped and strangled with her pantyhose, is a preferable to that same woman explaining to a police officer how that hole got into her attempted rapist's head.
