Ehh, I'm not so sure about that. I don't believe the books you list from the 20th and late 19th centuries would have done much killing without an authoritative voice like Hitler, Mao or Lenin. Someone in authority must interpret them for ill to get the people to follow their commands, as been done first with the Bible and later the Koran.
Not really...are you saying the Bible is inherently evil or is it those who interpret it that are evil. Does the Bible inspire evil, as you stated, or is used by those evil?
I did not list the Bible. I listed Hitlers book, Maos book, Stalin book, 3 books written by evil men who inspired the worst evils of the 20th century if not in all of human history. The point is a charismatic individual can inspire through words (written or verbal) masses of people to do evil. The pen has killed far far more than the sword.
"The pen has killed far far more than the sword." Nope, It is those that interpret the word for their own ends that use the sword, like many have done with the Bible.
The real phrase is “the pen is mightier than the sword”, it’s an adage not to be taken literally. It means ideas are more potent and effective at motivating people than force. Look it up and read, you and I are making the same point.
"A well Schooled electorate, being necessary to a free state, the right of the people to keep and read books shall not be infringed"
Likely so, not that your point matters. I need all of my guns for "all lawful purposes", and that's protected by the Second Amendment.[/QUOTE] I don't "NEED" to vote... but it is MY RIGHT. So is my RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS.
