David Petraeus today resigned as director of the CIA after admitting an extra-marital affair. The former general had been one of the most respected figures in the military and intelligence establishment, but has stepped down to deal with the 'personal and professional issues' surrounding his relationship with a woman who is not his wife. I do too. to resign over an affair is not somthing that a military officer would do. There is somethign here that my gutt tells me has to do with Lbya.

Like hell it is. There's a vetting process called something like "Blackmail free" or another, to which all cabinet level people are subject to. So, our CIA and FBI vetted Petraeus quite a long time ago, and found nothing compromising? Bull(*)(*)(*)(*), CIA and FBI are better then that. They knew about affair. And Obama knew - this is a 4 star general we're talking about. And it was held aback. WHY? To have a Damocles sword hanging over the general to use it when needed?

It's a male menopause thingy...males haven't come to grips with their own mortality yet, so they engage in flings with young women to forget they are growing older and will soon lose their high school stiffies forever. Petreaus' emails had been monitored and he was due to be questioned by a panel this week on the Benghazi affair for which he presumably does not have enough answers, so he decided to blow his affair skyward as a diversion.
