Why should they care? They get automatic increases each year and will have no recourse over this. Until they are audited and their budgets frozen or cut this will continue
You won't see the usual fiscal hawks complain about THIS kind of government waste. Even when everything else is supposed to be cut, the GOP ALWAYS has the back of the military (err, defense). They ALWAYS get their nice budget increase.

As as they continue to have us focus on division, our oligarchs in office, whom make from $200K to $400K, but are multimillionaires, will continue to be brokers of the dollar. We will never fix our budgetary issues until we get lobbyist, and money out of government. Too easy to buy a politician! This is a not a partisan issue. Both the (R)'s and (D)'s are in bed with the lobbyist.
