Comey outlined her crimes, did not refer her to the DOJ as some of the lawyers in the FBI wanted, then made a false legal claim of 'intent' which isn't in the law or his call.

 

That in fact is the difference between Hillary's emails and President Trump.

When it became obvious that Hillary's emails existed and were produced illegally on a private server, there was an investigation into THAT, i.e. a crime that obviously had been committed. There was no question that there was a crime. The investigation was to determine who in fact had committed it especially Hillary since it was her people who had set it up and it was she who was using it. The evidence against her was irrefutable including classified materials being transmitted to and from that server making it a felony offense. Further she clearly obstructed justice by deleting at least 30k emails before the investigators could see them, and destroying equipment and bleach bitting hard drives to ensure they could not be recovered. And then the left shrugged it off as unimportant and Obama's Justice Department refused to prosecute.

There was evidence that Russia had attempted to interfere in our 2016 election and, without any evidence that he had done so, the investigation was to investigate that and determine whether President Trump was implicated in every way. It was determined early on that no Americans, including President Trump and his campaign, were involved in that scam in any way, but that investigation continued for more than a year more desperately looking for something, ANYTHING, even remotely resembling a crime that they could pin on the President. And when Mueller finally acknowledged that he had failed to do so, that has not deterred the radical left or the MSM or the Democrats in Congress from continuing the witch hunt.
