Senate Dem: Griner-for-Bout swap "deeply disturbing," enabling future hostage-takers

Gee, ya think? We traded a black market arms dealer for a cliched America-hating lefty who was stupid enough to bring illicit drugs into a hostile foreign country. Her fellow America-hating lefties are cheering, while continuing to not give a sh!t about the wrongfully imprisoned Paul Whelan and Marc Fogel. On the bright side, it's the 1st time a WNBA trade has ever made the news.

I wasn't even aware of Fogel until I read more articles on it.
    Let that sink in.

I WASN'T EVEN AWARE. Why wasn't I aware? Because Fogel isn't in the headlines every *******n day by our woke ass media hunting for clicks because he's not female, black or gay. He's a boring story of a straight white man and easily forgotten.

That's the reality. And our racist administration knows that so they paid heavily to swap out and rescue the poor female minority to earn important virtue points.

And the cost was high. You don't trade up a *******n ARMS DEALER for any one of these prisoners. Trump had the choice to trade up for the marine and he turned it down. Because the price is high.

    https://nypost.com/2022/12/08/trump...ut-for-paul-whelan-prisoner-swap-john-bolton/
"“The possibility of a Bout-for-Whelan trade existed back then,” said Bolton, 74, “and it wasn’t made, for very good reasons having to deal with Viktor Bout.”"

So the idea that Whelan for Bout trade wasn't on the table now is also bullshit. Whelan regardless of being discharged should have been ahead of Griner in the trade line. But he isn't a minority and thus does not award any virtue points over here. His name isn't in the headlines ever ****ing day just as Fogel's isn't. And if either of these straight white men were rightfully traded up ahead of Griner (because they were both arrested well before she was), our woke ass media would be all over it.

They were trying but they were smart enough to NOT trade up a ****ing arms dealer for him. None of these prisoners is worth that cost.

But this ****ed up administration is stupid enough to trade up an ARMS DEALER so now the question is "why is it that Griner skipped to the front of the line?" I wonder how it happened to be hrrmmm?

You make this about race all you want, it's about celebrity.

If James Woods had been arrested in Russia, more people would be talking about that than Fogel.

Female basketball players are not celebrities. Their league typically loses roughly 10million yearly and has to be subsidized by the male league.

Is that why the league loses money year after year?

I think the WNBA should be terminated, it survives on welfare from the NBA. Women don't watch sports.

That doesn't mean that Griner isn't a celebrity.

Strange how Putin seems to have more devotees in this country than in his own.

Then again, he hates gays and ******s, what's not to like going by our conservatives

You mean the kooks who attacked the Capitol to prevent the Presidential election from being certified?

Yep. That's just like trespassing into your neighbor's garden to steal carrots.

She took some pain medicine that had never caused any problems before with her when she went into a foreign country which had invited her and offered considerable money if she came. Yeh, that's worth nine years.

Some people need to move to Russia if they like Putin so much. I hear he's giving away free vacations in Ukraine

You do realize that not everyone being held was being held for the same degree of severity of offenses right?

    *LOL*

So, it's funny to you that some of them "trespassed" in order to prevent the peaceful transition of power?

Man, that nuanced argument sure is compelling.

US embassies have for decades warned travelers that foreign drug laws are often more strict and penalties more severe than in the US. That is the case in Russia. Whether she did not not bother to inform herself of the warning or chose to ignore it, her problem was of her own making.

I guarantee that my wife watches more sports than you do. Come on, man, have more self respect than this. Drop the RW sexist nonsense and think for yourself.

It's more compelling than the din of your repeat by rote talking points.... Or your straw man

Bonus points for complaining abut a "repeat by rote talking point" while defending a repeat by rote talking point. Meta fun.

There clearly aren't enough women watching sports to keep the WNBA solvent. It's not RW or sexist, it's just true.

It brings in tens of millions in revenue. If the costs eclipse that, then that's an operational problem, not the fault of the athletes. But you said that women don't watch sports. That's what I was addressing. THAT is outright sexist and untrue.

League operational mismanagement is not the fault of the athletes.

It's their product that sucks making them not appealing which inturn means hardly anyone follows and that their players are for the most part, unknown.

Unless black and gay and female AND captured by Russia.

Obviously i didn't mean that no women ever watch sports. That shouldn't need to be clarified.

I doubt 10s of millions covers the operating costs. Most teams payrolls for players alone is over 1 million, not to mention the cost of operating the stadium during the game and all of the other employees.

The WNBA isn't very popular, and it's not rational to put the blame for that on men.
