Handle bar and brakes done, brake on each wheel. Plenty of stopping power.
Already brought 30 more ft of tubing today, to start the next build. Gotta have something to keep me busy if they shut the damn town down. Only thing left to do is screen in the sides and paint touch up. DSCN0261.JPG

Almost done, only thing left is paint the back and dial in the rear derailure. I screened in the sides so hands or clothes cant get in the moving spokes. DSCN0264.JPG DSCN0263.JPG

I'm seeing zip tied pool noodles, on the top rails. I will recommend considering them, to the client.

Finally one hundred % done. All wheels and bearings have been serviced, she's good to go. Handing over the "keys" today. Time for the next build. DSCN0265.JPG DSCN0266.JPG

Bike number 2. Built for me to get Mrs FatBack out of the house, on a daily ride.

Seat has been done over with woven paracord. A dog cage has been fabricated to go under the deck. He is safe and has room but hates the ride but loves the destination. Park at the river, close by. Over 200 hundred acers of old Fl.

One never knows when a bug out device might be useful. This would have been easier to laugh at, in January.

~ Amazing. I am surprised tube that diameter is strong enough. However I see hospital gurney made of aluminum that can hold an average adult patient .

With some Fat Back custom modifications this could be a "lazy style" bike !?

It's galvanized steel, thin walled tube. Most is 3/4 inch. Some one inch and one and a quarter, is involved (on my builds) Love the morbid sense of humor, to match the avatar! And those, dont experience a dynamic, shock load constantly.

@Adfundum Build #3 complete. This ones all fancy, client wanted a disc brake and powder coating (that cost 190$ including sandblasting, I thought it would be more) And a tailgate DSCN0346.JPG DSCN0345.JPG DSCN0344.JPG

It's so damn hot here and the customer said "no big rush" so it took a couple months, lol. I need a shop with AC or at least a shop fan. I'm kinda jealous of the powder coat and disc brake, it rides better than ours even though the measurements are virtually a carbon copy. I should probably charge at least 400$ labor, I only charged 250$. A commercial one starts at about one grand.

Wow, FatBack! That thing is awesome! It reminds me of some three-wheelers they used to have in Japan, but they were single speed. They also had some that were motorized.

I can see the genius of adding speeds so it can haul a bit of cargo. I'll bet you could get a few more orders if you lived near a senior community. The one my mother lives in has several similar pedal machines.

I'm always amazed when I see people who still have those old skills for making things--and do it so well.

    Thanks!

There are actually several large trailer and RV parks here catering to seasonable snowbirds and Canadians. I need to get some flyers printed up and post them in the clubhouses or common areas. This one is pretty much a 9 speed, 2 chainrings up front and 9 gears on the rear cassette so technically an 18 speed but the larger chainring up front is way to high to be of use, so much so I dont even add a derailer or shifter, I was worried the gearing may be to high as she ordered the wrong rear cassette but (smaller sprockets, road bike ratio instead of mountain bike) but it worked out.

One possibility would be for your fans... and customers to create a film production cooperative..... or kibbutz....... if you prefer to use the Yiddish word for cooperative......... and your customers and fans finance the insurance costs..... on the condition that you give them some video footage that they can post to their youtube channel........ [there is always the possibility of a you tube channel going viral and making the owner of that channel some money..... and fame]??!

Wow..... way to go FatBack........ one possible theme or concept for those possible reality film projects would be to at least make an attempt to make one homeless person...... or family....... into renters or home owners through that proposed reality film cooperative or kibbutz......
