https://www.npr.org/templates/transcript/transcript.php?storyId=576502739 Judge Dismisses Federal Case Against Cliven Bundy And Sons, Bars Retrial There's been an extraordinary decision from a federal court in Nevada today that could affect the way the federal government manages millions of acres of public lands. A judge has dismissed conspiracy and assault charges against rancher Cliven Bundy, two of his sons and another militiaman. These charges came from their role in a tense armed standoff against federal agents over cattle grazing on public lands back in 2014. The judge cited what she said was serious misconduct by federal prosecutors. Bravo Bundy! It ain't the Federal's Land, Constitutionally. It is State Land. End the Federal occupation of the West! Bundy is correct on this one! This one makes sense! Moi r > g Across an immense, unguarded, ethereal border, Canadians, cool and unsympathetic, regard our America with envious eyes and slowly and surely draw their plans against us.
This is a glorious day for the fanatical right, and the lunatic fringe. Also every grifter rancher who never paid taxes. (Like Bundy). And let's not forget the greedy land-grabbers.
I gather you like the Federals. And anyone who approves Bundy's message is "Radical Right". Labels, labels. Being a Constitutionalist now qualifies as "Radical Right". Yes? The purpose of the Constitution was to limit Federal authorities, not expand them. Do you live in one of those Rocky Mountain or Pacific West States were the Federals illegally occupy a third or half of you State's turf? Remember, when a territory is organized into a State, The Federals are Constitutionally limited on that land. The Federal City in the District of Columbia was supposed to be the only Federal lands. From the map above, please share what percent of YOUR State is Federally occupied. Gracias If California lands were grazed more, Wild Fires would be less!
I read an interesting study on California's wildfires. Where as 90% of the wildfires in California are human cause, Governor Brown blames climate change. But the real cause of large wildfires that consume hundreds of thousand of acres every year is a direct cause of Democrat liberal policies and environmental tree hugging lunatics you rarely ever get anything right when it comes to conversation and the environment. Back during the late 1860's the state started building permanent and maintaining firebreaks, conducted control burns, cleared the brush and allowed cattle and sheep herders to roam freely eating the flammable brush. Starting during the late 1970's and getting out of control by the 1990's liberal Democrats and environmental loons put an end of maintaining permanent firebreaks, controlled burns, clearing brush and allowing ranchers to graze on federal and state lands.
Personally, I have to question how much of that is "liberal Democrat" policy and how much it's the desire of people living in those areas, say because they don't want controlled burning near their homes or some such nonsense. It would not make sense for tree-huggers to oppose controlled burning, seeing as how that not only eliminates fire hazards, but recreates something that is supposed to happen naturally, and does so in a safe manner. As for grazing, that's something that definitely should be permitted and I have no idea why they would not permit it. Allowing livestock to graze on state or federal lands would not harm those lands in the least, but again would allow for something that naturally should take place.
California wildfires are normal. Some native seeds do not sprout until singed. That took longer to evolve than peoplekind's influences. Grazing controls wild fires Grazing is NOT a dirty word. Just the leavings. They improve the ecosystem with nutrients.
The primary purpose of the Constitution was, as the Declaration of Independence states, for the federal government to secure the individual rights of The People. And when the federal government fails to do that, it is no longer a government that serves The People. "The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first." - Thomas Jefferson, principal author of the Declaration of Independence The fact is, no one owns any land unless they have allodial title to that land and no one I know has allodial title to any land in the US. If you have allodial title to your land, you would not be paying property tax. Try not paying property tax and see who really owns the land you believe you own because you paid for it. http://freedomforallseasons.org/All...HAVE ALLODIAL TITLE ON YOUR PROPERTY_html.htm
All this could have been avoided if the federal agents had just returned fire until Bundy and the rest of his right wing nuts were dead.
Excuse me with some facts. The Bundy people had no firearms at this occurrence, I call Bundy 1. It was the Federals brandishing weapons on a non threatening crowd. The Bundy cowboys herded Bundy cattle out of Federal corrals. Like something from Milagro Beanfield War. It was a righteous demonstration of the Spirit of the West and surviving the Federals. Even in their court. The Old Man was in jail how long? For a good time, read up on the Hammond Family Ranch and the lengths the Federals will go through to take private ranch property. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hammond_arson_case here termed an arson case. That's the Federal's excuse. No accidents. Arson. It was the inspiration for Bundy 2 and the Hammond family disavows any association. And then there are those cases where the Federals just decide to go out and hunt you like a dog. Worth Watching. Pretty sympathetic got the victims. Even by law officers surviving today.
So ignorant. When temperatures are higher and places are drier than human-caused fires tend to be a lot more damaging.
Especially when humans have wiped our all the herbivores. Grasses depend on herbivores just as some native California seeds depend on being burnt to sprout. Moi, BSc Biological Sciences Magna Cum Laude. studied Ecology before it was a political word. You? BTW what percent or YOUR State do the Federals occupy per the map above? 45.3% of my State
What? What on the rise? Herbivores. You see any bison, goats or cattle? Maybe deer, horses, ? ? ? Big diff between just not extinct and doing their part for the ecosystem BTW what percent of your State is under Federal occupation. I told you mine
What I am saying is that herbivores have been mostly gone for a while but this recent increase in fires is a much newer trend. If the lack of animals was the cause the fires should have increased 100 years ago and remained about constant.
When it comes to wild fires and the fuel that feeds wildfires it has more to do with the humidity and the moisture content of the foilage than the temperature. Fuel fed fires can be controlled where as wind fed fires the fire fighters are in a big shithole like we just saw in Venture and Santa Barbra counties. The biggest problem in California is over population and urban expansion. Mother nature never intended having the welcome mat out at the border and 40 million people living in the state.
Major fires have always been with us here in California. You just didn't get 24/7 coverage. People did not use to have homes/suburbs so close or in those areas. BTW considering less than 50 lives lost and some 100 homes lost, check my numbers please, was it really such a big deal compared to Katrina or a Bangladesh flood. Or was it they be "rich people". Reminds me of the Laguna Beach, California fire some years ago. And mudslides. Rich people there too. We disagree on herbivores and your sort of, logic. AND How Much Of Your State do the Federals occupy. If you can't figure out the answer from the map above, how can you understand the Bundy situation to responsibly disagree?
Bundy is still happening! The DOJ has appealed the dismissal (see #1) to the 9th Circuit. The 9th is like the learning disabled brother in a family of Circuit courts. Meanwhile, the rains have created greening of those pastures and Bundy continues to graze some land as free range. I believe he should charge the Federals for the value of his herbivores on the land. Land that evolved for grazing plus the manure. Bravo Cliven Bundy A true https://www.lasvegasnow.com/news/lo...ederal-land-5-years-after-standoff/1745798910 Cliven Bundy's cattle still graze on federal land 5 years after standoff Feb. 1, 2019 LAS VEGAS - A year after a judge dismissed charges against rancher Cliven Bundy, two of his sons and another man, an appeal is coming. Federal prosecutors announcing this week they are challenging a decision by a U.S. District Court judge to declare a mistrial and dismiss the case against the four men related to the armed standoff near Bunkerville, Nevada back in 2014. The vast valley surrounding the Virgin River sprawls for miles in every direction. Recent rains have left the range lush with vegetation. "The rain has really made it stable, we can see a good spring coming, that means fat cows," said rancher Cliven Bundy. . . . Recently I watched two movies. Milagro Beanfield War and An Unfinished Life. In both movies it seems no one like the Federal Land managers or Park Service. Moi Don't ize
You talkin' Bundy one https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bundy_standoff when the cowboys stole his cattle from BLM or the efforts that got out of hand in the Northwest? The Hammond Family ranch ordeal, quite a persecution by the Federals and Trump pardoned them. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hammond_arson_case The Hammond family claimed no appreciation nor affiliation with the 2016 occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Preserve. What are you referring to? Gracias
Bundy and his family should be breaking rocks at club Fed for the next 50 years and his livestock should be served up at the Capital Building cafeteria.
Amazing that the right has taken this moochers side on this. What a joke. Conservatives, you guys need to take a long hard look in the mirror when you champion Bundy and elect Trump. Are these really the people you relate to? If so you need to take a moral inventory.
Folks East of the Rockies do not appreciate how much land The Federals are occupying in the Rocky Mountain States and the Pacific West. Witness: Once a territory is organized into States with Congressional representation, the Federals really have no right to occupy State land so frivolously. The Constitution was designed to keep Federal turf in the District of Columbia. There is no justification for the continued Federal occupation aside from, maybe National defense. Bundy knows this well. Time for the States to take procession of their geography. Moi Don't ize,
@Jeannette Ammon Bundy (son of Cliven) is running for governor of Idaho And involved again (sort of) in the War Against The Federals https://www.opb.org/article/2021/06...rce-open-klamath-headgates-and-release-water/ Irrigators say they plan to force open Klamath headgates and release water A pair of Klamath Project irrigators and their supporters say they intend to break into federal property and open the controls that are preventing water from Upper Klamath Lake from going to farms and ranches. Farmers Grant Knoll and Dan Nielsen bought property next to the headgates in April for $30,000 and have set up camp on the site. They are staffing a large canvas tent with volunteers from the local branch of People’s Rights, a national organization formed in 2020 by militant activist Ammon Bundy, and they’re trying to rally support. In 2001, during a previous stand-off over a federal water shut-off, Knoll and Nielsen were photographed by Associated Press reporter Don Ryan manually turning on the water at the headgates. While the technology to turn the water on has changed, their plans have not, and they’re trying to get others to join them. Ammon Bundy, leader of the 2016 Malheur occupation, has stated publicly he’s willing to come to Klamath Falls to join those involved in the effort, if asked to do so. Support Bundy(s) Knoll & Nielsen too Moi Please notice how much State land is occupied by the Federals in Rocky Mountain & Western States compared to the Midwest & East
