California Prosecuting Man for Insulting Posts on Islamic Center's Facebook Page

A man insults some Muslims on social media and California is prosecuting him.

Some of course will try to spin and say it is about harassment but that is simply false. The posts were made on facebook. The Islamic center who he posted the messages to simply blocked him thus ending the whole thing.

Can't call it harassment when one can be ignored and is.

The motive here is quite simple California just needs to stop pretending and start calling itself Pyongyang.

facebook has more controls then a phone number blocker and if it is political theirs a lot of leeway..

An individual cannot be harassed when they have the easily exercised power of blocking anything you say which is exactly what happened here.

If he had tried to circumvent the block or ban on facebook in order to continue posting to the site then there MIGHT be a case for harassment. He did not do this however he simply posted insults until stopped be being blocked.

No harassment there. It is is akin to me getting in someone's face and shouting insults until they say " leave me alone " . IF I leave them alone it cannot be called harassment.

 

Well since they got all those electoral votes from packing the state with illegal immigrants over the decades one can only hope.

He breached no such law.

He expressed himself until it was stopped. Stalking or harassment would make sense if he got around the block that they put on his posts but he did not even try.

There is no evidence that he made any threats on phone or otherwise.

it is fatally flawed.

if convicted, conviction would be thrown out by unanimous US Supreme Court.

 

i fully support anti-harrassment laws against persons and groups.

but there is no evidence this guy attempted to continue his taunting and attacks after he was blocked from the FB page.

he didn't send letters, emails, etc. he simply stopped communications.

he should be aqcuited.
