California sheriff vows to 'physically remove' ICE agents from jails

An official from the nation’s largest sheriff’s department vowed this week to “physically remove” ICE agents from its county jails.

Speaking at a Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday, Sheriff Alex Villanueva from the Los Angeles County sheriff’s office said he eliminate the presence of federal immigration agents from the city’s county jails.
Is there any doubt how liberals feel about public safety of citizens, or the issue of open borders?

ICE should call in the jurisdictional FBI to arrest the sheriff for interfering with and obstructing federal law enforcement.

If only it were that easy.

People should get in the face of Dems who attempt to claim they support public safety and border security.

    I agree.
Actually it is physically and legally very easy to arrest the sheriff, but politically it s a bear.

    I don't know about that.

States are not required to enforce Federal immigration laws.

That is true. (In fact from Obama's suing AZ they can be prohibited from it.) But they are not permitted to interfere or obstruct federal enforcement which is what they do if they ban ICE agents. Though FBI is probably required to enforce against the ICE ban.

Yeah, I believe there is a federal law about interfering with an investigation, or actions of federal agents!

eisenhower sent troops to little rock in 1954 because the democrats refused to obey federal law.

trump can send troops to los angeles in 2018 because democrats again refuse to obey federal law.

that ******* swore an oath to uphold the constitution, and the laws of the united states. he needs to be relieved of his duties by the governor of california. since the governor of california will not, he needs to be removed, by force if necessary, by the commander in chief.

But they feel very strongly about some kinds of justice, now ready to fine or jail dairy farmers who fail to collect cow farts, trying to pass a law with penalties up to 6 months in jail for driving with an under-inflated tire, and have removed the penalty for. They have also removed the penalty for prostitution for minors, so people under 18 are free to become street-walking hoes. Set up early release from prison for "non-violent" offenders, which includes those guilty of raping an unconscious person, human trafficking involving sex with minors, and assault with a deadly weapon. All of these are new laws, of which there are over 800 this year. Crime is up in California, but successful prosecution and convictions are down. This is of course a self-induced phenomenon.

These people have some kind of strange mental affliction which so far is beyond the ability of science and medicine to cure.

of course not. nobody is suggesting that. but knowingly shielding criminals from law enforcement is called obstruction of justice. it is a crime, punishable by jail. and this ass hat in cali swore an oath to uphold the laws of the united states and to defend the constitution.

That's one of the stumbling blocks with local jails holding people for ICE. Just wondering if this is the same.

no, it is not a stumbling block. it is a mandate. every law enforcement officer in the country swears the same oath to uphold the laws of the united states. trying to physically block a law enforcement agency (that has jurisdiction as the feds do) is literally an act of treason.

My state has forfeited itself to the illegal aliens. I have had over a dozen close friend and family move out over the last few years. They have went to: Texas, Montana, Alabama, Arizona, and Alaska. It's a shame.

This is all about growing big government. Anyone telling you different is just ignorant or lying.

    Worse.

Consider what the jackass Jerry Brown said the other day....

    https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2018/dec/19/jerry-brown-california-democrats-likely-spend-too-/

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) – Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown helped make his party even more powerful in California during the last eight years and now, less than a month before leaving office, he predicts that dominance will make it difficult for his successor to control Democrats’ hunger for spending and regulations.

    Couldn't agree with you more.

However, California is now a land from an alternative universe. It's unrecognizable as the State my family first moved to in the 1870's.

That’s not quite how it works. You are standing in multiple overlapping jurisdictions. So is the ignorant cop. He cannot interfere with ICE doing their job any more than ICE can interfere with him writing a speeding ticket. He should be cited or arrested if he follows through with his threat.

but you are arguing my point: the federal government has jurisdiction over every square inch of this country wrt immigration. attempting to block them from executing their duties would be obstruction of justice at the minimum.

sad story indeed. soon you will have two groups of people left: the super wealthy living behind their walled communities (how’s that for irony?), and the great hordes of illegal aliens servicing your rich. you may have a few spots left in siskyou or yolo where the constitution still applies (excluding the 2nd amendment of course) but you’re right... your state is a lost cause.

please wish your friends good luck and tell them there’s nothing for them in idaho. thank you.
