Well, they are hypercritical to the economy. It makes sense. They will surely spend it.

The question is should they borrow while issuing stimulus money. Whether this is an effective means of providing stimulus is a second question. Since the economy can't know if the person spending money is illegal or not, I'm guessing it is as effective as any other stimulus cash.

The idea that it makes sense to borrow in order to provide a stimulus is a foregone conclusion. That is the only kind of stimulus that exists.

 

You know this might seem like a crazy idea but undocumented migrants are... consumers too. If you have a portion of your population not getting the economic aid they need there better be a good economic reason for it.

And if anyone responds with "But Kranes, Americans are struggling, we need to bail out Americans first, we're citizens. We deserve it", that's just a bad argument. Nationality won't matter when you need money for food.

Sadly, many of the illegal workers in California, just like Trump's low wage illegals for Trump's family businesses, work to care of nursing homes, landscapin, houskeeping, cooking, food prep and cleaning up poop in hospitals beds and floors.

Without those 2nd class worker, how many of these positions will be filled by Trumpers and Republicans?

There wasn't a week go by when Trump quickly proposed a special low wave class of workers, way below even the miserable minimal wages in the Southern states that actually ban higher rates of pay in those states when some city says they want their city wants more than subhuman income income.

Regardless of rather you think CA did the right thing or not with giving out money to illegals, they gave more than they could afford and not they are knocking on the federal door for money for their tax paying citizens to be paid. That by any standards is crappy management.

 

All CA citizens pay sales tax so income tax paying citizens are still paying more than illegals. In CA they have a state income tax as well as federal income taxes. So the working man in CA who pays federal, state and sales tax can not get unemployment because the state govt who keeps him from working with their silly shutdown also gave the tax money to the illegals who only pay sale tax.
