I believe doctors should work in the patients best interest, not the government. Would anyone like to defend this bill?

Can't be... All the angry leftists claim that those who support Trump are the fascists....

Fascism: a political system headed by a dictator in which the government controls business and labor and opposition is not permitted.

As always, the democrats get busted calling us something that they are.

Seems too vague. While it's true that the politicized nature of COVID means there are a lot of alternate views out there supported by little else than the political leanings of those espousing them, the vagueness of this law does leave open the possibility of abuse because of the wishy-washy nature of what is considered "contemporary scientific consensus".

The problem lies (no pun intended) with government discerning what they classify as misinformation. As of now, most, if not all which were claimed as misinformation is now shown to be true. All the doctors that were ostracized for information they presented as fact, whom are now vindicated with empirical and scientific data should have monetary compensation from these institutions/government.

True. While there are many examples on this forum, we have one extreme example of one pot calling the kettle fascist.

If CA really wants to act in the best interests of people getting bogus advice, then they should outlaw people who aren’t trained and certified medical professionals from telling kids they’re in the wrong body.

'contemporary consensus' ...clearly subjective wording designed to protect the establishment from the BS it makes up while allowing its critics to be persecuted for their criticisms of the BS.

Good question. What is the governments record on lying? Do you want them in charge of deciding what is truth? Lets say that a doctor disagrees with a politician on injecting bleach.

How we not make up goofy scenarios….although I assume you think it’s fine if the doctor tells you to inject bleach?

Should a doctor be able to cut a hole in someone’s head to let the demons out?

How about the doctor giving you advice that is in the best interest of politicians and those that fund their campaigns instead of the patient?

Sorry, but based on experience, gov cannot be trusted with this kind of power. I used the trumspter as an example because I know how much you trust him.

This is a problem for people like me who use alternative medicine practitioners whenever possible. The way I maintain health does not provide big pharma with profit. Should politicians get to decide for me?

This is why Newsom is afraid to release the data on Covid. He knows the data would debunk all his lies, Brandon, CDC, and WHO's lies.

If someone has an exorcist, but doesn't pay for it, do they get repossessed?

So you don’t believe in any laws protecting consumers?

This is the key point. If you haven't yet grasped that, try imagining a country where your worst political opponent gets to decide what's "truth" or "misinformation" and put an official government seal of approval on those decisions.

Do you want Donald Trump in charge of deciding what's harmful to consumers? You want him to be able to label, say, CNN and the NYT as harmful to consumers and ban them from the public square?

I dont see any difference between someone hiring a doctor to 'cut a hole in their head to let the demons out' and people having their genitals removed. As long as they're adults and I dont have to pay for it, thats their private business and theirs only.

Lol...the way I see it, Democrats want to control your top half whereas Republicans want to control you bottom half.

Republicans should call it, the "Don't Trust Your Doctor Bill".
If doctors can only say what government dictates, people will trust doctors as much as they trust government. Which is pretty low.

    Aren't democrats fascists.

Could you imagine back in the day if speaking out about slavery was against the law?

Tow the line or face the wrath of the left.

That’s quite a stretch, so is claiming this bill is leaving it up to politicians and not a medical consensus. We already have drugs approved for treating certain illnesses, and it’s not Biden or Trump who made those decisions.
