    a post-operative transexual female?

Not sure I've seen that, but would be interesting.

If "Dave" marries "Denise" (who used to be "Dennis" but now has had gender re-assignment surgery and hormone treatment and become female)....would an opponent of SSM object?

    If not...why not?

    If so....why?

(BTW, I'm predicting a dearth of responses from opponents of SSM to these questions...or at the least few direct answers. Just a hunch)

But trans* people are different, and my ultraconservative version of Jesus doesn't like different people. I mean, he didn't hang out with lepers or beggars or anything.

This is a sarcastic jab at those who use christianity to justify homophobia. Do not take this seriously.

It is indeed an interesting question. I'm not surprised either, that you're not getting any answers. I have repeatedly asked a similar question regarding intersexual people- people who go through life with physical characteristics of both genders, to no avail. What position would opponents of SSM if that person wanted to marry someone who is entirely male or entirely female? Should they only be allowed to marry someone who is just like them? Oh wait, that would really be a double whammy same sex marriage, or would it be more like a group marriage? WTF, the point is that this can all get pretty ridiculous and will continue to be as long as people are hung up on who can marry who based on gender and gentiles.

Now before someone says this is stupid, it cant happen, or is unlikely to come up let me enlighten you. There has always been a small percentage of infants born with the characteristics of both sexes. Until a fairly short time ago, the medical response was to make a quick decision as to what gender he/she should be and operate. Or you might say mutilate. Of course, if the wrong decision as to gender is made, it could lead to gender identity problems later in life .

Now, the thinking is that no such drastic and irreversible action should be taken until puberty the child can understand the situation and cab make their own choice. Yes that child will be raised as, names , and dressed as either a boy or a girl but that are also allowed follow their instincts as they grow.

Many, at one point will decide to live as either a male of female and at some point undergo surgery and or hormonal treatments. However, many will say....."this is who I am and I don't want to be changed in any way. So as I said, when that start wanting to marry, it might get real messy if we don't find away of getting over the SSM nonsense.

If anyone doubts the veracity of this, you might want to google "The Intersexual Society"
