A special strength of American democracy has been the desire of newly elected presidents to unite the public with healing words after the sound and fury of the campaign. Now comes President-elect Donald Trump. He has won the office and yet has continued his vindictive, disruptive style of politicking. He has run a post-campaign that has corroded the traditional grace period of considerate political transition that the nation needs. The hope of citizens for a better future, for a sense of uplift, has wound up hostage to his impetuous Twitter attacks on individuals, institutions and nations. Fellow Republicans like Senator John McCain openly wonder whether Mr. Trumps chief obsession is to engage with every windmill that he can find, rather than to focus on the most important position on earth. http://www.business-standard.com/ar...ent-trump-be-presidential-117012000605_1.html
Can we stop getting these alt accounts from members who promised to leave? I mean really there's been like 50 of them. You'll post 5 or 6 anti trump threads and then disappear.
No, he's actually said a lot that could be considered as healing. Right from the night of the election, in fact. But his haters don't tend to hear that, I think. After all, their propaganda sources probably gloss over those words while inventing drama and fomenting hate.

His speeches. Figures you never even heard them. The people complaining about things Trump said or allegedly said don't even listen to Trump, but let hostile media and other intermediaries filter it for them. - - - Updated - - - Thank you for visiting logo You seem to have an Ad Blocker on. Could you give some examples from the speeches? I will admit I find him somewhat difficult to listen to, but I have listened to some and have heard very little that is directed to unifying. He said some in his victory speech and I have heard more in an interview, but have seen or heard nothing where he really seems to address the issue at any length. Particularly bad, IMO, is his refusal to address his losing the popular election. If he is going to keep on saying there were THREE MILLION illegal votes then I can just as easily say there were several thousand non-existent votes put in by Russian hackers in the crucial states that gave him the victory. I have, after all, just as much evidence to back that up as he does, which is to say, absolutely none whatsoever.
Hey, your candidate John McCain lost his presidential campaign 8 years ago. Get over it. But you certainly can cheer his incessant calls for war almost as much as Hilary Clinton did. Today Trump was 100% times more presidential than McCain ever was.
I don't care if he acts presidential. For once, I want him to be effective. We've already had a weak, liberal POTUS who could act the part of being presidential, even with an undeserved Nobel Prize thrown in. Unfortunately he was not competent.
Yes.. In this pic from one of the debates he stands like a solid rock, cool, calm, regal, majestic, messianic, presidential, while that little lefty granny raves on with her eyes a-popping..
You mean will Trump follow recent tradition and have to have a Beer Summit because he is at heart a racist or get on television and say the equivalent of "If I had a son he would look like Trayvon" as a deliberate attempt to influence a sitting judge and poison a jury pool? Only time will tell.
Poor Hillary "Lady Macbeth" Clinton, she dreamed of being crowned, but unlike the real LM, she saw it slip from her grasp (sniffle)
