It looks like homelessness is out of control in Canada (and other places too, like the USA). It seems from the article that it isn't the result of a lack of funding by the government to fight homelessness either, but actually the strategies are not working. Things like paying for housing for the homeless are not effective. They don't work!

But people are also fed up with bussing people out of town and police clearances of tent cities.

So, what are the root causes of this phenomenon? It all boils down to mental health and drug abuse. With all of the government's failures at solving the problem of homelessness, it looks like no amount of success will come from government efforts without actively addressing the mental health and drug abuse problems of homeless people directly.

Get rid of that "carbon tax"....job killer that contributes to homelessness.

    In theory......
homeless people in the Greater Toronto Area could become actors playing the role of themselves.......
they could form into a film production cooperative or company or kibbutz or two or three or many more organizations like this.......

....and they could begin a reality film series that certainly could potentially bring in a revenue stream comparable to "Hoarders" or other similar reality film projects.........

..... in theory... the homeless people of the Greater Toronto Area could become a major market for building products where the packaging is damaged... but the actual building projects are still
    good.......

... and this homeless person's film production cooperative could help the homeless in Toronto to become A MAJOR MARKET FOR SLIGHTLY DAMAGED OR USED BUILDING MATERIAL THAT WOULD TAKE THE IDEA OF "REDUCE, REUSE AND RECYCLE" TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL of efficiency!!!!

In theory.... an entire community of houses could be built for the homeless and......
one of the biggest problems in Toronto could be envy and jealousy by
ordinary Torontonians as many of these now homeless people.....

....soon begin to earn reality film star incomes.........!!!!!????

My daughter back in 2007 had a tiny role in the Disney film "The Circuit" that was shot near Antigonish, Nova Scotia so
I found out that if somebody has ONE SPOKEN LINE in a Disney film......
they earn about a thousand dollars per hour minimum........ and of course that goes way way up for anybody with many spoken lines.

Could a reality film series about Homeless people in the Greater Toronto Area become so successful that it earns the actors Disney level salary and benefits????????

I think part of this has to do with the high levels of immigration (relative to the country's population size) Canada has taken in over the past 15 years. It has resulted in housing shortages around all the big city areas and pushed rent and home prices up.
Most of the Canadian population lives near just eight major big city areas, where amenities and the better job opportunities are concentrated.

In my opinion this is a rather brilliant assessment of what happened......

I moved to Mississauga on December 21 of 2021 and yes.......

.... even rental prices here are astonishingly high!

About a month or so ago at church, (Catch the Fire), a new friend of mine suggested to me that perhaps I should campaign for the office of Mayor of Toronto......

... I thought about this..... I really didn't feel quite up to doing this because as I mentioned... I have only been here in the Greater Toronto Area for a year and a half and I don't even know all that many people well yet...... but......
.... the idea of my campaigning for Mayor of Toronto kept gnawing at my conscience so one evening I printed up about fifty nomination writings along with thirty nomination signature forms and I drove half an hour from where I live in the Erin Mills area... and I went to the area of Etobicoke..... but after collecting ten nomination signatures in about ten or fifteen minutes I found out that I was actually still in Mississauga..... so those three signatures would not even be valid for a campaign for Mayor of Toronto!

Once I got home I checked my e-mail and found out that somebody who is a resident of Mississauga cannot campaign for the office of Mayor of Toronto, (unless they are at the least renting a place in Toronto).

But.... you may find my nomination writing somewhat interesting.....
(I just did a simple search for the area that I was in that I thought was a part of the City of Toronto but no..... some areas termed Etobicoke are actually now a part of the City of Mississauga).

MY SUGGESTION IS A FRIENDLY RIVALRY BETWEEN THE CITIES OF MISSISSAUGA and TORONTO VS JERUSALEM based on Zechariah chapter twelve verse eight!

"In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them."

Homeless people living in the area of Jerusalem, Israel would meet the definition of "feeble".... wouldn't they????????????
