I very much enjoyed this....... One near death experience in six involves a meeting with a previously deceased cat or dog or horse or other pet..... according to Dr. Ken Ring who did some amazing research on near death experience accounts. @DennisTate Cats protect their loved humans from spirits as well as physical threats; as spirits or alive
My cat ate my Koi Carp. My dog would just bark at them. A scary guy came into my garage when I was working. The cat hid. The dog told him in a growling voice, "One more step and I will rip your arm off and eat it first!" (Or toe, depending on the breed... )
Ruth declawed when we became partnered at the animal shelter She was small and maybe some Abyssinian in nature She liked people and especially a thigh to hang each forelimb across while her chest pressed warmly especially women wearing denim. After Ruth died twice some female guest startled "I feel like Ruth just jumped . ". . That condo address seemed to attract spirits or . . . etc. etc. Ruth was a special cat
Cats are the only creatures I know of besides humans that kill and routinely torture other animals merely for amusement. Many very well-fed housecats love to stalk, capture, torture, and kill other creatures -- for no reason other than they're seemingly so bored. Consequently, I have never liked cats very much....
I didn't "upload" anything. The thread topic is "Cats and the Stigma", and, by juxtaposition (and concomitant elaboration) I explained why I ain't a 'cat person'. If there's a "stigma" placed on anyone for being fond of cats, it may be related to others wondering why anyone would like an animal that callously tortures and murders other animals for no reason at all.... What's being "troll" about an observation like that...? Or, in 'plain Texas talk' -- cat hungry and needs food? Fine! Go kill some food and eat it. But, cat gets fed regularly by owner and wants for nothing in life -- but tortures and kills for the hell of it? Bad cat!
A cat only does what his species does. Not all cats get fed by their owners, some get dropped off or thrown out because the owner didn't want them. That behavior is worse than a cat's behavior. I have taken in dogs and cats that were abandoned. I often wanted the person who threw them out to come back and see what a beautiful animal it turned out to be. Bad cat is usually caused by a bad owner.
I will certainly agree that anyone who deliberately abuses or mistreats (or malnourishes) any animal that is in his or her care is a despicable human being who ought to be put in a cage with a couple of angry, hungry lions!
