This is just wealth redistribution. Left-wing people vote for this process every time they step into a voting booth.

Its only happening "more" in that you can now see petty crime stories from every single state of the union in a few clicks.

"act[ing] like idiots" gives them a certain license to do these things. Idiots don't know any better...they're idiots. This is a 'criminal act' not an idiotic act. It was done for personal gain and/or profit, at the expense of someone that couldn't defend themselves. And yes, this sort of thing is happening more and more these days. The result of our new culture in which taking from others what you haven't earned yourself is OK.

Then the left will want them to collect disability for the rest of their lives.

I'd like to agree with this one. I honestly have no idea and am just speculating but are the youth of today really THAT much different than the youth of yesterday? Or is it simply that we are able to see more things now because of the internet and social media?

But then I get told that our parents didn't have crazies shooting up schools and other public places every couple months either so I do wonder if this generation has some serious issues.

There is too much forgiving going on.

I shudder to think what would have happened if youngsters had acted this way when I was a kid.

But back then, we had stable families with 2 parents bringing up the young'uns. And there was discipline. These days all we get is single mothers wailing about how "he was such a good boy", and our government rewards such irresponsible behavior.

If you only listen to the media it seems like violence in this country has gotten worse, despite the fact inreality it has been on an overall downward trend for 40 years:

Also people never talk about the fact that the worst school attack in US history was actually in 1927. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bath_School_disaster

The jackass was pissed off about losing a local election so he put dynamite in the schools basement. 38 kids dead as well as several teachers + almost 60 wounded.

Yeah, I forgot that to a progressive it's not theft if an elected politician does it.

When I was a kid I was spanked, went to bed with out dinner, or my father would destroy my toys. If you do anything like that today, you get the child protective services called on you and go jail for two years.

I don't think so. When I was a kid we were idiots, too. We weren't as financially well off as kids today but we were idiotic. What is happening is a culture and a government that winks, forgives, excuses, and doesn't stop these kinds of actions is you belong to a group that has been defined as a victim.

Thirty years ago we arrested three women who were running a Bank Examiner's Scam and stealing from old people. They had taken $11,000 from a 90-year old woman. As we were booking the women they were laughing and giggling and one said to me, "Our lawyer's good. He'll keep this in court till that old woman dies and then where will you be." Her lawyer dragged it out for three years and we finally got the judge to make them to go court. The old woman was alive and when asked who stole her money she pointed at the three defendants. The three went to prison.

But, more and more if you are a predesignated victim, you can pass after pass after pass till you actually feel like a victim. You feel, as one of the rioters in Ferguson said, "We deserve this". A juvenile who was quite flexible in committing crimes but liked stealing cars got probabtion after probation all the way up to double-secret probation. Then, tragedy struck. He stole a car and did a few thousand dollars damage to the garage as he took the car. Eight-hours later he was hopping to a deputy's car--he was in restraints--for the ride to the reform school. He saw the probation officer and said, "Mr. Swartz, help me. I swear I didn't know whose car it was." Mr. Swartz said, "Whose car it was isn't the issue." I looked at him and said, "Raul is a thief but he isn't a fool. He knows damn good and well he's going to reform school because he stole the D.A.s car." Our most liberal judge sent a guy to prison on a felony DUI because the car he hit belonged to another judge and the girl who was injured was the judges daughter. If it had been my daughter, the guy would have gotten probation.

A woman in Chicago embezzled over $100,000 and neither went to jail nor paid restitution because she had a shopping disorder. A woman kills her sleeping husband and with no evidence other than he statements she avoids prison because her husband was abusive--they all are. I'm shocked the Melendrez boys didn't get off when they murdered their parents and then whined that they were orphans. Of course, they were rich and those who designate victims hate the rich.

Consider people who cheer O.J. Simpson's acquital and rage that George Zimmerman and the man in Texas who killed a drunken driver who had just killed his two young sons aren't at least spending the rest of their lives in prison.

Unfortunately, it happens more often then you think and it has been happening longer than this nation has been in existence.

    Karma will solve it.

Have you ever met someone who was disabled, or fatally ill, and at first, you felt for them, and tried to help...

Later to learn that their plight was largely self-inflected and sure looked like Karmic Justice?

I am sick and dying, painfully and slowly. I spend allot of time in hospitals and met many fellow terminally ill people.

There have been a few, on finding out the back stories, and seeing how they treat others in ward, or waiting room, totally deserve what has happened to them.

Irony, would be this guy who stole the tablet, getting bone cancer, or such...
