Sad part is, I think we might be worse off had we elected McCain. I think we would be crushed under Cap and Trade instead of ObamaCare. Either way, our choices are limited to (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)s who want to just (*)(*)(*)(*) you and (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)s who will do the same but afford you a courtesy reach-around.

It'll cost more than this. I'm wagering $10 Trillion. It's the government. Always multiply estimates by 5 because 1 President, 535 Congressmen and two stadiums full of lawyers and bureaucrats can never account for all of the parameters of governing 312 million people.

Amen. People should go back and look at original estimates for medicare. Your multiplier of 5 is probably low. I believe in 1965 the forecast for 1990 was 12B. Actual 98B.
    Here we go again.

so no one has a itemized list of what it's gonna going to cost us? really, just list the top 5 most expensive items

there is no public option, that would of been the major cost

as is, the insurance company covers the risk as they said they would IF everyone was required to have insurance

The feds for 1. I've seen numbers like 157 new agencies, depts and such. Each of which will do what govt bureaucracies do naturally, strive to increase their range of authority and their budget. Did I hear 16,000 new IRS agents. Another I would think would be subsidizing state medicaid rolls as these sound like they will certainly increase. I wonder if they calculate how much money will be taken from the rest of the economy by all the new health insurance spending. I don't know what kind of numbers you'd be talking about but I don't think it would be negligible. That of course leads to less economic activity and of course less tax revenue. The cycle continues.

if we would of had a public option, the start-up costs would of been there, we have no such costs

The public option is an illusion.

What can government offer that a private insurance company can't?

Libs promise that the public option will not lead to socialized medicine but they will never keep that promise.

It's my understanding that the costs I cited are in the current act.

Just from a common sense point of view, the idea of now supplying healthcare coverage to 10,20,30 million(whatever it works out to) currently uninsured sounds expensive.

Didn't Obama say that this was going to be paid for without adding to the debt?

So he took $500 Billion from medicare and started to tax for it before it even takes place and its still going to cost this much. Great

True, but once the Bush tax cuts expire, you too will be screwed along with many others, and small businesses, again.

Unfortunately, the ONLY thing on your list that they will entertain will be the additional Tax on us. Hence part of the resistance to it. They'll keep pissing away money, and giving themselves raises as they have been, while they reach a bit deeper into our pockets...again..

None of this should come as a surprise. Obama has been lying since he started campaigning more than 6 years ago and the ignorance of the American people to believe in him is nothing less than moronic! "But it's not a tax!" Hahaha...

If it were only Obama and fringe radicals like him that posed the problem, we could simply flush the great political toilet and be rid of them all. Even now the percentage of voters who admit to being "liberal" is only about 21% -- a figure that has held steady since about 2008.

The true picture shows us Obama as a mere handpuppet for RINO's like Bernanke and the old-money "Insiders". The bottom-feeder socialists are very "useful idiots" and easily lead. The cling to their cancerous, spreading "Welfare State" like a wood tick in a dog's ear. The RINO masterminds use them very effectively as they slowly and insidiously undermine and destroy the underpinnings of this, and every independent country. Their goal: first, complete economic domination of the world... then political domination. It's the fabled "One World Government" idea that we've laughed about, since there seemed to be no truth to it.

Well, starting in 1913, the old-money masterminds who rose during the Industrial Revolution, and the Socialist "progressives" took over the economy. On June 28, 2012, through RINO "Justice" John Roberts, they ripped the guts right out of the U. S. Constitution. Obama hasn't fixed anything, and he isn't going to! If Romney is elected, he isn't going to fix anything! Nobody is going to fix anything! So you had better look to yourself and fix it so that you can survive what comes next... if I'm right, it is going to be an "ass-ripper deluxe"....

Get yourself a proper helath service that doesn't have to keep insurance companies rich. The NHS cost half of what you pay and is generally hugely better.

The NHS sucks. Pregnant women can't even get in the hospital to have their babies. Yea, that is just what I want.

It is obvious you do not understand the high cost drivers in the U.S. health care system. This report from CNN was very informative.

"New Jersey’s Camden Coalition of Healthcare Providers founder and family medicine practitioner, Jeffrey Brenner, used medical billing records to find that just 1% of patients accounted for 30% of health care costs in Camden. And that's not all he discovered in the city's three hospitals. He says: "We learned that someone went 113 times in one year. Someone went 324 times in five years. In similar workup in Trenton, they found someone who went 450 times in one year." These were people with complicated medical histories and chronic illnesses. One patient alone racked up $3.5 million in medical bills over a five year period. As Brenner says, :"They're the difficult patients to treat, and no one is being paid and incentivized to pay attention to them."

What's more, Camden's problem is America's problem. Just 5% of Americans accounted for half of our nation's health care costs in 2009. This is perhaps the crucial statistic to understand about America's health care problem."

You have no serious evidence, and no-one but your masters and their serfs would believe you. NO woman has ever been denied a maternity ward under the NHS, and everyone knows it. IF YOU ARE NOT CONSCIOOUSLY LYING YOU ARE ***MOD EDIT - insult deleted*** REPEATING LIES.

Laugh out loud! What?? A braying donkey makes more sense. Who, in God's name, travels to Britain to use their "wonderful" health service?
My daughter went to college there and used the NHS a couple of times. Said they were "efficient" and nothing more.

I just gave you evidence. Only a leftist socialist won't believe their own eyes. They must wait for their master dear leader to tell them the truth. my god England is pathetic.

From the anger and the lack of keyboard control or ability to spell I'd say his posts in this thread are less Iolo and more Penderyn Whisky. Kind of early on a Monday morning for that, ain't it? Even in Wales?
