On the CBS Morning News today, a doctor reported that in the early stage of the coronavirus, the victim may have very low blood oxygen levels and not realize it. If caught at this early stage by checking with an oximeter, the patient can receive oxygen treatment that will prevent the need for a ventilator.

Gale King noted that she immediately looked on the internet for oximeters. So did I a few minutes later and discovered that at CVS, oximeters selling for $49.99 (limit two) were already out of stock online.

So, should there be an effort to ramp up production of oximeters? Or will Trump’s advisors tell him to avoid any “socialist” intervention in the marketplace? Trump will then announce it is up to the states to remedy any oximeter shortage.
