The U.S. Census Bureau released its annual population statistics Thursday showing massive growth for southern red states and significant losses for blue states like New York and California. Overall the U.S. population increased by 1.2 million inhabitants from 2021 to 2022, according to the census report. Only the southern and western U.S. showed positive growth, with the South expanding by 1.1%, or 1,370,163 residents, and the western side of the country adding 153,601 residents. (RELATED: How Pollsters Created A ‘Red Mirage’ Before The Midterms) Texas had the largest increase out of all 50 states with over 400,000 people coming to the Lone Star State. Florida, however, held the title of the fastest-growing state, according to the report. “Florida was the fastest-growing state in 2022, with an annual population increase of 1.9%, resulting in a total resident population of 22,244,823,” the data showed. “It was also the second largest-gaining state behind Texas, with an increase of 416,754 residents.” Blue states, however, suffered heavy losses during the past year, according to the report. New York lost over 180,000 residents in 2021-2022 and California and Illinois lost over 100,000 each.… read more hard news: dailycaller.com/2022/12/23/census-data-americans-fleeing-blue-states-sun-belt/ This Daily Caller News Foundation current event news story is very interesting. Many of us simply will not live among the big coastal secular progressive elites or have our lives dictated to by their kind. Even if we do not leave blue states completely we move away from the coastal urban hotbeds of insanity. We live in red states or insulated red parts of blue ones distant from the core and inner suburbs.
In Ca some liberals have moved from the Bay Area to the Sacramento suburbs. As this happens conservatives move to exurbs further away from Sacramento as places like Roseville tints toward blue and rapid growth occurs in previous valley farm towns like Wheatland, Williams, Willows, as well as Yuba City, Lincoln, Auburn, Rocklin. For years Butte County had contained Chico and some day Placer county will have to outvote Roseville. Red people move to escape and preserve our lifestyle while blue people move with the intent of imposing themselves upon their new neighbors. The biggest of differences between us.
Notice the job creation differences among us. Most all red areas are way ahead of pre pandemic jobs levels while many blue areas are still way behind.
That’s not happening . Most liberals leaving Ca do not go to Florida, Texas, or Idaho. They go to Las Vegas, Denver, Portland, Seattle primarily while some stay instate trying to turn some inland area purple particularly areas around San Diego and Sacramento. They reduce the total numbers leaving Ca altogether somewhat
Certainly not a NEW "Phenomenin"... Actually, OLD NEWS... Here is an Almost 2 Year-Old Article (From March of 2021) saying essentially the Same Thing: (March 17, 2021) America’s Mass Migration Intensifies As ‘Leftugees’ Flee Blue States And Counties For Red https://www.forbes.com/sites/chrisd...-states-and-counties-for-red/?sh=481718623146
Or folks move because home prices are less expensive in some areas and more folks are working remotely,
Blue states: The makers are moving out, the takers (and illegals) are moving in. The tax base in blue states is dwindling, Cuomo had to beg people to come back to New York, or did you miss that?
Maybe old but also new as these numbers show the trend continues and is actually growing. Living in a clearly bright red part of Ca. I know that the best thing our area did recently was to defy all of Newscums lockdowns and mandates making everything optional and educational with zero enforcement. We recovered all of our lost jobs 18 months ahead of the state as a whole which just now is doing so though many blue areas are still behind. Our emphasis on a huge mega church, country music, guns, and rodeo is a deterrent to liberals moving here as well as slow walking construction of 3200 sq ft plus homes the transplants love to buy and pocket cash after selling a modest bay or La area him. We concentrate on affordable housing for working working and middle class families 1250 to 2200 sq feet on large lots near a park , walking trails, and an elementary school and far from public transportation. We have gone all in on studio to 3br affordable housing in the core of the revitalized downtown but avoid low income units except as infills in largely commercial areas scattered around and never congregated. Liberals will not be turning us purple anytime in my lifetime.
Everybody talks so much smack about Florida but look where they're bringing theirselves.... It's sad what Florida's turning into. Too damn much suburban sprawl and too many idiots that don't know how to drive. Then they want to move here and vote for the same exact sort of failed policies that they're running away from. I'm glad I was born decades ago so I won't be around too many more decades to see what becomes of it. If you don't like Florida the same interstates that bought you south of the Georgia line can still take you back where you came from
Most remote workers here are conservative refugees who took advantage of the ability to work from a big city while living among and educating their kids with their own peers. During Covid we attracted people from big cities all over America to work remotely from here. They made us more red, not less. There are some people who own or work for a company needing west coast exposure and wanting a more rural or exurban lifestyle. We are half way on the UP and I-5 between San Diego and Seattle and have fed ex air and flights to LA, Burbank, SF, Seattle, and one coming to Denver next year. We have lots of high tech and medical devices start ups and other companies and are growing smartly. https://online.pubhtml5.com/dsfo/qaiz/#p=8 https://www.shastaedc.org/ and yes we have culture as well. A proudly developed small conservative city and county in a hostile and alien land. https://www.caculturaldistricts.org/redding
~ Obviously you have never been to San Francisco, Sacramento, San Bernardino, downtown Los Angeles. Pay a visit and you too will want to leave — or maybe you will shrug in acceptance of WOKE leftist government. ~ This makes me have hope for America — as pessimistic as I am . HOPE
Why would home prices be higher in blue states than red state? The left argues that blue states have all the money, but could that be because things are more expensive in blue states, a lot more expensive?
Here's the conundrum, the left wants government to control everything (see schools, business, Twitter, etc) only to say the last guy took away freedoms.
