The bigger concern should be microchip manufacturing and technology going to China. The balance of world power wont be tipped by navies in the age of intercontinental missiles that can be fired through orbit.

Of course Ukraine has no army, no economy and no people, because all Ukrainians are Russians who forgot Russian.
And we both know that everything in Russia is bigger, faster and more progressive: Russian midgets are the biggest in the world, Russian watches are the fastest in the world and Russian syphilis is the most progressive in the world. And Russian death sentences showing an apex of Russian civilization:

By the way, the Russians are going to denounce the border with Norway and restore their full rights over Svalbard, including the creation of a Russian military base there. This was stated by the head of the Russian parliament Volodin. And there are good reasons for the denunciation.
In accordance with the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, which forms the legal basis of the Russian-Norwegian border treaty, all disputes must be resolved by the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea. Its chambers meet either in Germany or in Singapore. In 2022, Russia was deprived of the right to apply to this arbitration. Germany and Singapore have imposed sanctions that prevent Russians from participating in arbitration sessions. Since then, the Convention on the Law of the Sea has ceased to operate. Consequently, the Russian-Norwegian treaty also lost its force.
And the military presence of the Russians in the Arctic makes it possible to carry out the denunciation in full and without serious problems.
This will also affect the Baltics. I think that soon the Baltic countries will return to Russia. If only because Peter 1 bought them from the Swedes. This is actually Russian property.
And since the Russians promote and support human rights, I think that any resident of the Baltic countries, if he does not want to become part of the Russian World, will be able to freely leave for any country at will.

I have seen what NATO is doing. For example in Afghanistan. They shot there weddings, funerals, civilians in the markets, bombed hospitals....etc. In general, they did what the NATO military usually does.
And I also saw how NATO fled from Afghanistan.
In general, nothing new. NATO as NATO.
As for the direct clash between NATO and Russia, in this case, the inhabitants of the NATO countries should be glad that such a clash does not occur.
If only because, as everyone knows, the Russians will go to heaven, but the rest will simply die.
The Patriot system is nothing at all. We have seen in the example of Saudi Arabia how old Houthi missiles easily pass through the Patriot.

All Russia has to do to stop encountering NATO is to stop invading other countries. Is it not?

I usually completely disagree with Destroyer of Illusions, but the Chinese navy is not something that should be casually dismissed. Just in the last decade they have made immense strides in modernizing their navy and its capabilities, and are very quickly leveling the playing field. Their Type 055 destroyers are comparable to our Arleigh Burke class destroyers. They only have several built so far, but they only have to worry about their waters, not the whole world like we do. That is just one example of their fleet modernization. They also have multiple carriers, including a supercarrier, and are building more quickly. For every one ship we build, they build 7, and they are ships of consequence now, not little patrol boats.
They are now acknowledged to have the world’s third true 5th generation fighter, the J-20. Our generals have acknowledged that they are impressed with its capabilities, including its stealth.
The most worrisome is their missile capabilities. Although our AMRAAM air to air missile is slightly more capable, the PL-15 their J-20s use have better range. This is causing us to develop a new missile with longer range to keep up, but of course they also are developing a longer range missile, the PL-20. The point is, they are now technological near-peers, and are a force to be reckoned with.
The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) recently ran a war game in which China invaded Taiwan. The US was victorious, but lost 2 aircraft carriers, dozens of other warships, hundreds of aircraft, and about 3,000 soldiers and marines. Guam was wiped out in hours, other bases as well I think. Victory was only possible if the US intervened immediately, and only if they had the full cooperation of Australia and Japan, which I assume we would.
Here is the results of their war game. It is a very interesting discussion, worth a listen. It is also very sobering. Just a few years ago I would have said that China wouldn’t have a snowballs chance in hell of successfully invading China, but that is changing very very rapidly. Dismissing them as a second rate military now would be a huge mistake I think.

Its political weight is irrelevant. He announced the actions of Russia. And, I hope it is clear even to you that such a person cannot make political and military-strategic statements without prior approval.
So, I can only repeat it especially for you - if you do not agree with the return of the lands belonging to Russia, which they legally bought, then you are free to leave wherever you want. Russians, because they are committed to the postulates of human freedom, will not hinder you.

Do you think China will start a war with Taiwan (and the US) this year?

The United States gives an example of how to act in the international arena - Iraq, Syria, Yugoslavia, Libya, Afghanistan ... etc.
By the way, there are 16 million combat veterans in the USA, but the American media screams about the "peaceful USA". Funny, isn't it? Especially considering the fact that there was no war in the United States.

You confuse military action to resolve another action with military action aimed at conquest. They are not comparable. The reason we have peace here is due partly to having a strong military.

Not this year. I agree with fmw, maybe a couple years. They are cranking out hardware as fast as they can, but it will be a while yet before they can have it ready for any chance of success. 2027 is the 100th anniversary of the PLA. I've heard speculations that Xi would launch the attack to commemorate this. Very hard to tell though, a lot can happen in 4 years.

Mostly to back up their illegal fishing fleets as they seek to eat everything in the ocean. They have hundreds (or thousands) of ships fishing illegally using illegal techniques. Unreported numbers of these rust buckets sink a month without a whisper.
China fights for food. Why do you think they are buying American farmland?

~ Like China's Belt/Road Initiative , substandard housing construction, empty cities, failed infrastructure, low quality manufacturing, poor healthcare, theft/copy of intellectual property rights etc. — this too is another failure of the World's biggest fake nation.
Like the Co2 and Covid-19 "pandemic " nonsense — China, North Korea and Russia will go down in history as popular distractions of nefarious government agendas.
That is if we as Western society can actually survive our own stupidity and treasonous governments.

The reason why the United States is still at peace today is the remoteness from world centers in past centuries. This is the only barrier. Hitler, by the way, spoke directly about this.
Today, the factor of remoteness certainly matters, but to a lesser extent.
In addition, the United States, historically dominating the American continent, can exploit all other countries with impunity. But if suddenly some country decides to show independent thinking, for example, Panama or Grenada, then the United States is demonstratively introducing "peaceful" troops.
In general, you, as an educated person and able to critically look at the information space, do not offend the interlocutor's intellect with such ridiculous comments about the "strength" and "justice" of the United States.

I also think that this will happen after a while. It is important for the United States to end the war with Russia, because it will not be possible to win on two fronts.
But this time gives China many opportunities. China is developing rapidly. Within a few years, they overtook the United States in terms of the number of warships. In a few more years, the advantage may become critical.
And I wonder if this strange character who greets the shadow remains at the head of the United States, then it is obvious that the decision will not be him. And what might that solution be?
Especially considering the serious problems in the US Army - from old bombers to food supplies.
    For example.
    1. The Marine Corps is pulling parts off of museum planes to keep their F-18s flying. Even with that drastic action, only about 30 percent of their F-18s are ready to fly. Not only that, but instead of getting 25 or 30 hours a month in the cockpit, Marine Corps pilots are getting as little as four hours per month of flying time.
    2. Only one-third of Army brigades are ready for combat. The Army has now fallen to the smallest level since before World War II, while the top Army general says that the Army would face “high military risk” if it were to fight a serious war.
    3. The Air Force’s B-52 bombers are an average of 53 years old. Most Americans would not want to drive across the country in a 53-year-old car (see example below), let alone go to combat in a 53-year-old airplane.

~ The next U.S. president will very likely be Gavin " Whether you like it or not" Newsom. Another arranged election.
