So you support that level of government power? Christians, turn in your bibles and crosses or face harsh punishment!!!

Did you ask yourself, why this concerne the quran, not the bible? How comes the Chinese come to the conclusion the quran contains extremist content, but not the bible?

Yup. The Chinese government is smart. They know a plague when they see one.

The next logical step is to outlaw the insanity of Islam altogether.

In a Buddhist nation like China this should not be hard to accomplish.

Perhaps ALL religion should be abolished everywhere. After all religious beliefs of one kind or another have been the root of ;most wars /conflicts and other destructive human conduct. As long as one belief system believes it is better than antler how can humanity ever hope to get along?? Perhaps just a simple standard of life like" DO NO HARM..D(physically and verbally).... would work better. Furthermore : most religious beliefs are based on delusional ideation. and not on FACTS or REALITY. In some views it is considered a type of magical thinking. Perhaps the critical thing is to question everything ..using reason and logic as a standard.

The only thing worse than religion is government overreach. Are you under the impression this only applies to muslims? They have forced people to remove pictures of Jesus as well. The problem with cheering them on when imposing what you agree on is that they will eventually use that power for something you may not.

Very good point . Both "religion " and "government " are about POWER..... over the masses. All religions have abused their power atone time or another. as have most governments. Both have the potential for extremism.

They probably do not like it, just like they don't like Falun Gong.
It has nothing to do with what the quran contains.
It has everything to do with the following something that aint the government.
A person who has massive amounts of followers = power.

It's revolting how many people let obvious fearmongering turn them into piggish jingoists.

Throughout history governments have attempted to abolish any religion they deem a threat and it never works. Generally it actually strengthens the resolve of the religions most zealous members.

You said we should question everything using reason and logic as a standard, which bodes the question, whose reason and logic should be used? You have to be more specific, should it be the reasoning and logic that one forms in a Christian culture, or the reasoning and logic formed in a Hindu or Islamic culture?

I'm not too sure, because the Uyghurs are Turkish people, and it is a separatist movement... spurred on by Erdogan of course. Many are terrorists and have been fighting in Syria.

Yes but making it more difficult for the good ones to be Muslims
will force them underground, and associate with more radicalized elements.
    :hmm:

BTW I first learned of the Uighurs in my Cartoon History of the Universe by Larry Gonick.
Highly recommended for a "world view" of history.
Makes a great gift to oneself and kids that gotta and hate to learn history. College level.
