    Yeah... thinking even superficially. Who benefits most from Russia invading Ukraine? China. Russia gets sanctions, those sanctions hurt the countries doing the sanctions, China fills the gap to the extent they want, China sees how the west would respond to their own ambitions, and Ukraine gets sacrificed. China reaps rewards without significant risks.

    It is always best when the US sides with one against the other. That doesn't take some great signed agreement. When we don't then they both side against us.

    And right now we could not stand a two front war against the both while other third world countries took advantage of it.

    Neither. The US approached China to act as an intermediary so how could China do that without telling the Russians that the US have information that shows that Russia are not being truthful. The spin in the OP is crap
