If our borders were open and immigrants had an easy path to citizenship, it would actually make the children safer since they would be full U.S. citizens and their rights would be protected like every other child in the U.S. If however they had to sneak across the border and live here illegally, they would be much easier to exploit, since they would be under constant threat of arrest and deportation. This is why billionaires don't want the border open, they want a constant supply of cheap labor that they can exploit without fear of repercussions.

 

Not for the simple-minded amongst us, no.

 

I'm open to making the path of immigrants to citizenship easier we're not talking about immigrants we're talking about illegal aliens those are criminals. Dealing with immigration law will have no effect to whatsoever about that.

Nothing new here. Federal government - actually all governments - serve their own interests. We get lucky when they are the same as our interests.

 

Might you give an example of when the government's interests have been the same as the people's interests? How have we been "lucky" in that regard, on which occasion?

 

I will let you think it through. The majority of what government does addresses the public good. It is the actions that do no that get all the press.
