Since it seems there are many among us who feel that the rights granted to us by the founding fathers are no longer relevant or required, it is my belief that those people should have the right to waive certain rights such as the right to free speech, the right to bear arms or the right to not have to house soldiers. That way these folks can feel safer knowing that they won't be allowed to purchase fire arms or say anything politically incorrect. Also we can save money by stationing troops armed to the teeth at their residences. And for those of us who wish to keep these rights that by no means are to be infringed upon by the government, we can remain happy with our guns and free speech.
The founding fathers didn't grant us any rights. They set up a government with a Constitution detailing what rights of ours that the government cannot infringe upon.
That is like saying the car dealership didn't sell me a car, they just wrote a contract detailing that the car is mine in return for a cash payment.
