"I haven't advocated any agenda as far as response to global warming."

    Taxcutter says:
Then you are way behind the Warmer curve.

Ruinous taxation, job-strangling regulation and funneling hundreds of billions to tinhorn dictators has been the Warmer agenda since the late 80s.

    You need to catch up.

Actions taken on account of climate change is a separate issue from the science of climate change.

Approach a committed Warmer and tell him/her that all increases in taxation and regulation and the UN are off the table. Check out the reaction.

They were cleared by the same people that have been funding their lies. That also does not explain why the erased the raw data when they were forced to release it under a FOI request.

simple science for the science illiterate... don't expect a response from them I've presented simple science facts and they refuse to address them because they can't, and most not because they're being evasive but because they're scientifically illiterate...

why accept the simplest testable CO2 explanation for climate change when magical unknown unverifiable untestable cosmic rays can be blamed (magic)...

You do know that the tent has no similarities to global warming.

The clear plastic lets in long wave infrared radiation and traps short wave infrared radiation. It is exacly the same thing.

Nope while some plastics like a polyethylene plastic might be somewhat opaque to lwr the dominate factor an play as with an actual greenhouse is the inhibition of convection. Open a small hole in the tent and the temperature equalizes rather quickly. You would get almost the exaxt same warming effect if you used a plastic tgat was transparent to LWR.

Never expect warmmongers to actually understand convection, conduction and radiation though.

Oh bull....the best way to cool a greenhouse is to use water....evaporation is a cooling process. A hole in the roof (or even your fans running and vents open) will not bring it to the outside temperature during the day.

Shading also helps to keep a greenhouse cool and that does block long wave infrared radiation.

No its open the door. You can search the Internet for the greenhouse gas effect being a misnomer. Im not go I ng to lead you bey the hand through it.

Oddly enough I was reading an excellent book on the Dust Bowl era, and it is fascinating to see how many of the arguments back then are being reproduced in the current debate. It seems a common trend that those with least to lose scream the loudest.

It will be close. Of course there will still be some inhibition of convection, but Windigo is right: the temperature will come way down, because the greenhouse mechanism is based on blocking convection, not radiation.

The feedbacks are negative - even if we don't understand all of the reasons why - the fact still remains that the feedbacks are negative.

Every computer is wrong b/c they all input positive feedbacks - too bad for them the empirical data says otherwise.

The facts aren't going to stop the warministas though... they have an agenda and an army of ignorant fools willing to carry water. It's sad - they're sad and pathetic; but that's what we're up against, irrational fools who have money and power - facts never matter to such people.

    How Does a Greenhouse Work?
    By Ashlee Simmons, eHow Contributor

    Read more: http://www.ehow.com/how-does_4564037_a-greenhouse-work.html#ixzz2cYekU3Ov

A greenhouse works by taking in sunlight and heating it up. This process is the conversion of solar energy (sunlight) to thermal energy (heat). Greenhouses are designed to allow sunlight to filter through the walls and ceiling. The sunlight warms the trapped air inside, creating chemical reactions. These reactions help the plants to grow to their full capacity while protecting them from outside elements. It is a well-known fact that plants grow better when they have temperate heat and a good water source. A greenhouse gives them both.

The composition of a greenhouse is key. Typically, greenhouses are made of plastic or glass. The purpose is to trap as much light and heat as possible, which plastic and glass do. The plants and soil inside absorb all the sunlight and then reflect it back out. As the solar energy is redirected, however, it is changed. Sunlight is composed of shortwave infrared radiation that is able to pass through the greenhouse's exterior. These waves turn into longer-wave infrared radiation after absorption by the plants and they are no longer able to pass through the greenhouse's exterior.

www.SBgreenhouse.com With more sunlight coming in and more energy being trapped, everything inside the greenhouse heats up further. The plants, soil and circulating air grow warm and moist. This process is called convection, which means that as the plants heat up, they release moisture. This moisture produces humidity within the greenhouse. Humidity is water vapor, which is a greenhouse gas.

When planning a greenhouse, pick a construction site where it will receive optimal sunlight throughout the year. Consider temperature fluctuations of the different seasons in your area and choose your plants accordingly. The temperature inside the greenhouse will always be warmer than the air outside. In freezing climates, however, artificial heat must be provided to stabilize the temperature and allow the plants to continue their growth. On the other end of the spectrum, a greenhouse can become too hot and must be cooled down. A good ventilation system is crucial in the event that hot air must be released. Some people do this by opening the doors of their greenhouse. Others spray the floors with water.

By offering shelter from the elements and an optimal environment for growth, vegetables, fruit and ornamental plants can be cultivated and grown regardless of the weather or climate outside. All that is needed is a well-built greenhouse and plenty of sunshine, along with proper maintenance provided by the grower.

Wow so guys on this forum are not the only people who dont know how a greenhouse works. There are other idiots on the internet. Who knew.

Quick question how many accurate links did you surf through before you found some idiot who was ad ignorant as you are?

Considering that the wiki and just about every othet link on the firsy page says convection you must have gone through a lot of links until you found someone stupid enough to agree with you.

The argument was "won" after the first post was made. Just look at the data for yourself. Massively increasing CO2 and flat temperatures.

If someone thinks the oceans don't exist, they could believe in the fantasy of a cooling trend. However, if someone understands that the oceans exist and absorb heat, it's not possible to sustain such a bizarre fantasy.

Still, congrats to the ocean-deniers for the crushing win they've scored over their strawmen. I guess they have to take what little victories they can get, being that no one outside the cult pays any attention to them.

The irony Iin that post is laughable. For over 2 decades the warmmongers ignored the oceans. Now they say the oceans ate our warming.

There are short comings behind climate science, but thermometers are fairly reliable. Have been for a few hundred years now.

A lot of denialists seem unaware of what a proxy is, that you can determine past temperature by many different methods.

The few who do know often yammer an insane story (pushed by DearLeaderWatts, of course) about how a single tree determined the hockey stick. I think that's my all-time favorite crank denialist fable.

But in fact, you can't. Proxies only offer an estimate with some probability of being close to the actual temperature, they do not "determine" past temperatures. That is why proxy records routinely contradict each other, which enables warmists to cherry-pick the ones that support their brain-dead nonsense.
A lot of anti-scientific denialism went into fabricating the hockey stick. They had to "get rid of the medieval warm period," for one. They stated it openly.
