It's time for the right wing extremists to get on board and address the fact of climate change. Its time to put serious effort and funds into developing alternative energy. The public also overwhelmingly agrees that climate change is real. Its time the GOP accept that fact.

The climate has ALWAYS changed; it's just that HUMAN ACTIVITY is not causing it...

Did you read the article. They specifically cite HUMAN CAUSED. It's real no matter how much nonsense you believe. Its now a proven fact that cannot be disputed.

It gives the lie to the recent "Consensus is breaking down" nonsense, since it confirms the figure arrived at in the original research several years ago.

Of course it's real. Earth's climate has been changing for 5 billion years. Why would you expect that to stop at this point?

A bunch of people saying they " agree" is NOT a "PROVEN FACT":.

Try ACTUAL science; it requires TESTING/PROVING one's theory through SCIENTIFIC METHOD.

A "show of hands" is not that.

And, by the way, do you really pretend that 97% of the world's scientists were consulted? Seriously?

Your thread title is a LIE; the article cites 97% of "CLIMATOLOGISTS", not "97% of SCIENTISTS".

    Climatologists are WEATHER MEN...

    Gonna fix that?

Amusing how progressive leftists so openly support corporate welfare, crony crapitalism, and economic fascism.

    Help me list a few.

    I'll start:

    The "green" scam, of course.
    Obamacare
    "National Homeownership Strategy"
    Planned Parenthood
    Corporation for Public Broadcasting

    now you.

Yes, Montoya, we all know it's real, but it is not because of humans that it is happening. That's the left wing agenda I have a problem with, and the fact we humans can't do a (*)(*)(*)(*)ing thing to stop it from changing.

Really? How about explaining HOW you decided that 97% of CLIMATOLOGISTS = 97% of SCIENTISTS.

Speaking of "there is no dispute'.

And then, explain how what they "agree on", replaces SCIENTIFIC METHOD.

I mean, I realize that you haven't a CLUE what I am referring to, but go ahead..give it a shot..whaddaya say?

Can you read? It's not a "show of hands."

They're basing this purely on the actual research. Your "show of hands" is thousands of peer reviewed scientific research papers.

And so sorry they didn't include scientists that don't actually research the climate.

So, what you're saying is that for every bit of pollution we don't give off, those two countries are just going to put off more pollution just for fun, just to make up for us not polluting? "Well, it looks like the US is cutting back on pollution. We better ramp up the pollution machines to make up for the loss!" :eyepopping:

    Yes, the conclusion is BOGUS!!!

All the scientists alive today were not polled. This article is garbage just like man-made global warming. They even had to change the name to climate change.

Here's an abstract from the actual study:

I think it's understood that we're talking about 97% of those scientists who ARE climatologists, who specialize in that field.

Science can never prove anything. There is no such thing as scientific proof. Tests and experiments can only disprove or support a hypothesis. They can never prove it.

What they agree on is that genuine applications of the scientific method, in thousands of individual tests and experiments, produce results consistent with the AGW hypothesis. And indeed, that hypothesis is largely the result of the application of the scientific method.

If someone says "mathematicians agree that 2+2=4" this doesn't mean math is established by vote! It means that the summary doesn't go heavy into number theory.

Yep. That's right. I can remember back in the early 1970's, when the scientists were predicting another coming IceAge. Climate has always changed...and always will. Everyone agrees with that, I believe. Whether or not man is causing any of it is a whole other subject. I also believe that most all the people who are in the camp that "man is causing it," are really anti-oil, anti-capitalism, and anti-business. And that is their MAIN objection.

Sorry but you have been proven wrong. Just deal with it and accept it. We have to figure how to deal with this. And if it means anti-oil and anti-business as you say, then oh well so be it.

And if you say it twice, you'll be twice as right. Since SAYING something is so or not so is your only support.

This is the consensus of the specialists. That's a big word meaning "people who know their job at least as well as you know yours."

Words spoken twice do not double in meaning. We understand that even though you have no idea how climate works, and would be uhable to calculate the partial pressure of a gas if your life depended on it (or even describe what a partial pressure IS), you know that the experts are all wrong. And you expect people to believe you.

I can see where it could be "man-cause" in ways.

There are a lot more people on the planet.
We need to produce more for the people.
The items we produce are based on each country's current technology combined with cost efficiency.
The people and production increases Co2....

However, we are not maintaining Earth's natural Co2 scrubber.

    Young trees scrub more Co2
    Old tree scrub less Co2
Logging "old growth" timber is taboo.
Can't log the old timber, can't replant it with young timber.

Currently, most logging is middle aged trees, then replanted, without much overall gain in the scrubbing capacity.

I don't understand why some people are insistent that there is no climate change. 6 1/2 BILLION people plus BILLIONS of animals have to effect the climate somehow. It's just common sense.

who cares , Democrats can't even get a simple gun registration bill through a Democratic Senate. Do you really think he can get a cap and through. Cite all the propaganda you want and it still aint gonna happen. Must be frustrating to be a liberal in these times LOL
