If anyone has any doubts that CNN is just another liberal media outlet with little interest in objectivity, please look at their "CNN Heros" page. As the entire network is produced and edited by elitists so far out on the left edge of the political spectrum, it is no wonder that their definition of a "hero" plays into their own belief system.

The real defintion of a hero is:

1 a: a mythological or legendary figure often of divine descent endowed with great strength or ability

    b: an illustrious warrior

c: a man admired for his achievements or nobel qualities

d: one who shows great courage

2 a: the prinicpal male character in a literary or dramatic work

b: the central figure in an event, movement or period

    3 heros --the sandwich

4 an object of extreme admiration or devotion: Idol

CNN "Heros" on the other hand are "everyday people changing the world"--which are poor examples of heros. CNN heros can only be: Champions of Children (welfare activists), Community Crusaders (Obama types), Defenders of the Planet (haters of capitalism), Medical Marvels (as long as they defend Obamacare and other such programs), Protecting the Powerless (social justice types that typically discriminate against Whites and Christians) and finally Young Wonders (any young person under 25 who isn't in the Boy Scouts, military or similar unworthy body).

CNN could care less abount any couragous heros, as none of their past or present heros have shown even an ounce of courage in their endevors that could compare to the everyday courage of typical police, firefighters and military.

If CNN wanted to find a real hero, one actually worthy of the definition, they could look to most any of our troops doing the fighting overseas. All of the CNN "Heros" pale to insignificance compared to a real hero like Sgt Kristoffer Domeij who was killed after his 14th deployment in the war zone. He was an Army Ranger who received 3 bronze stars, and was part of the Jessica Lynch rescue effort. He was finally killed by a roadside bomb.

CNN should stay with more familar territory an award something like the "Jane Fonda Medal of Treason" for those who aid in the fight against freedom and capitalism.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

I would never have stumbled across CNN recognizing these remarkable people.

Heroes are in the mind of the beholder.
