This is such a strange remark I have to address the points made.

First, we don't use gasoline for only cost. We use it because you carry the energy with you. We use it because it is compact. Were you to translate a tank of 20 gallons of fuel to explosives, it is very large. Normally we see gasoline burning when a person lights some of it on fire. But try setting it off confined into a container. It explodes when the air to fuel mixture is optimum.

Paint was not cheaper by adding lead. Lead was never put in to make it cheaper.

Aerosols may have been falsely blamed. The ozone level probably would be the same with or without CFC.

Asbestos was not cheaper so much as it is better. It is a problem when you flake some off and breathe it in. Did you do that?

 

You were the one that brought up cost. All of those things were done because they were the best way to get the job done at the CHEAPEST cost. And then we decided that they were destroying lives. We made a decision to move to alternatives that were , at least at first, more expensive. Costs have come down since they were fully adopted. We will do the same with AGW.

 

Still more expensive and proving not to be viable and all based on unproven fear mongering. What do you have against poor people?

I was making the point that gasoline is compact and produces staggering amounts of energy. I was not discussing asbestos nor the things you brought up.
