Jamaica Observer Commonwealth chooses first female secretary-general Friday, November 27, 2015 | 1:12 PM VALLETTA, Malta (AFP) The Commonwealth appointed its first female secretary-general on Friday when leaders chose Dominica-born lawyer Patricia Scotland to take over the running of the 53-country organisation. http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/latestnews/Commonwealth-choses-first-female-secretary-general With a name like "Baroness Scotland", shouldn't she be based in, I suggest, Holyrood Palace, Edinburgh? Otherwise Baroness Scotland based in London is going to seem as misplaced as Scotland Yard. Well now that women have got the two top jobs in the Commonwealth, I trust that the Queen and Baroness Scotland are intent on imposing a feminist constitution upon the Commonwealth? "A well regulated feminist Militia, being necessary to the security of a free Commonwealth, the right of women to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." It's long past time to open hunting season throughout the Commonwealth on assorted male chauvinist pig acid/stone throwers and school-girl-shooters. An open letter to - Baroness Patricia Scotland Secretary-General of the Commonwealth Commonwealth Secretariat Dear Baroness Scotland, Congratulations on your selection as Commonwealth Secretary-General. Now, a feminist Commonwealth? With now the 2 top offices in the Commonwealth being held by women - Queen Elizabeth as Head and yourself as Secretary-General, I have been inspired to publish and write this open letter to you, suggesting a draft text for the constitution of a feminist Commonwealth, which I trust that you two great ladies, if it is your pleasure, may amend and refine to suit and impose throughout the Commonwealth, using all means necessary, noting the jihadist terrorist war being waged against the rights of women worldwide means effectively that all feminists are being opposed by terrorists - whether we wish to be or not - a global war on terror is what feminists require to be seen through to victory. My suggested draft text of a feminist constitution for the Commonwealth for your consideration is as follows "A well regulated feminist Militia, being necessary to the security of a free Commonwealth, the right of women to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." That brief sentence, is all I have for the draft text of a Commonwealth constitution so far. I strongly feel that it is long past time to open hunting season throughout the Commonwealth on assorted male chauvinist pig acid/stone throwers, "honour"-killers and school-girl-shooters.. To that end, I believe that feminist militias, police and army units can serve the feminist cause well. Consider the inspirational role of the Kurdish Women's Protection Units (YPJ) as an example. I present to you my video on YouTube as a token of my love of women and my subordination to the needs and wishes of women world-wide. Women Rule! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xiW-E9KTaVw Baroness Patricia Scotland as the next Head of the Commonwealth? I note that you Baroness Patricia Scotland met with US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on June 19, 2008 at a meeting of the United Nations Security Council, at the United Nations headquarters in New York, where you represented the United Kingdom. I have long thought of Condi as the supreme and paramount leader of the free world and I sincerely hope that the Commonwealth under your leadership will be able to co-operate with Condi more intensively in future. Accordingly, I shall be copying this open letter to my fellow Condistas in the hope that I can encourage Condi and yourself to renew your contact and sustain a working relationship. In my view, you, Baroness Patricia Scotland, should now become the preferred and favourite candidate for feminists to support to become the next Head of the Commonwealth, on the death of Her Majesty the Queen. As a feminist, I cannot support Prince Charles, or indeed any man, as the next Head of the Commonwealth. Neither am I all that impressed with the Duchess of Cornwall or Princess Anne as the possible women options for next Head of the Commonwealth, as such appointments would be rather more "by-marriage" or "by-inheritance" than "by merit" as your elevation to Head of the Commonwealth would certainly be. Appointment by merit appeals much more to my republican principles. Of course, if you decide that you would prefer to remain Secretary-General of the Commonwealth and never become Head, I would happily revert to supporting Condoleezza Rice becoming as Head of the Commonwealth, as indeed I support Condi now as the next Secretary-General of NATO and the next Secretary-General of the United Nations. I don't believe it is possible to over-promote Condi but clearly she cannot do every top job in the world so if you can become Head of the Commonwealth this will ease the heavy burden of responsibilities on Condi as world leader. So, in my view now you, Baroness Scotland, are the best placed woman to become the next head of the Commonwealth and so you, I guess, would be the favourite woman, with the best chance of beating out Prince Charles to the top job. Additionally, I have written to the members of parliament who represent Scotland - at Holyrood and Westminster suggesting that the Palace of Holyrood, Edinburgh be made available as a Commonwealth headquarters for your use. Thank you for your offer to serve as Secretary-General of the Commonwealth and please do not hesitate to get in touch to let me know how I might serve you and the Commonwealth.
