In our area I came up against a conflict of interest issue where elected officials voted on a subject that they could profit from and when I then traveled to a neighboring state they were on the local Fox station talking about another conflict of interest case with their politicians. At least they could get theirs on the news.Difficult in this state. I am asking if any of the candidates for president have any plans to address this problem--while we have clear laws against this there is nothing to back them up.No action of remedy. What as an elected official would you do to correct?? Any knowledge or information anyone else know of???

Unfortunately there is no practical way to make a law that controls what laws politicians can vote for. Because there always has to be someone at the top, and the only body that can excercise any control over them is the voters (well, their Political Party mobilizing the voters, to be more accurate). So we have to be careful who we vote for.
