    Congratulations America! Come On Down!!!!

You have finally joined the Fascist winners circle!

President Obama is about to sign into a law a provision allowing the indefinite detention without trial of anyone in the world - including American citizens on American soil.

This can be done on the "Say So" of Obama and his Administration for any reason - just mutter the magic word "terrorism" and the job is done.

Please note that Obama already claims the right to assassinate any person on the planet, including American citizens, for the same reason.

No courts, no judges, no lawyers, no evidence, no proof. Just the say so of some official who doesn't even have to make his reasons public.

You have lost your Republic. Nice knowing you.

And don't forget the SOPA law, that is more suitable in countries like China or North Korea. And if it is approved, USA won't be able to say again anything about the censorship of China because USA would do exactly the same.

    What is the SOPA? This:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stop_Online_Piracy_Act

If both laws are passed we can affirm without doubts:

    - Welcome to the Fascist USA.

    Very dangerous.
If this is as bad as some people fear it is they'll start targeting various `dissident` groups one at a time to avoid serious controversy until there's nothing but helpless sheep to put the jackboot to.

If you hear of the U.S. government arresting "white supremacists" and "militia members" instead of Muslim jihadists you know we are in serious danger.

And to be frank any liberal or conservative that claims to support this is either a fraud or a plant.

You act as though this is new.

We've had the "War on Drugs" for almost 1/2 a century now.
Then came the "War on terrorism".

This bill just edifies already established infringements on Constitutionally declared limitations on government powers.

Gotta love it, didn't the President promise to veto this? Oh wait... he's a liar.

I live in Georgia and just wanted to say outloud here that both of my republican Senators support both SOPA and the Indefinite Detention Act,

    Sen. Johnny Isaakson
    Sen. Saxby Chamblis

I wrote both to let them know that they no longer represent small government and that they have lost my vote and my support. I suggest any and all of you out there do the same, ignore voters at your own peril, we will evict you in 2012.

Also, vote for Ron Paul, the only candidate that has even a drip drop of sense and doesn't support this utter crap.

Took the effort to actually read the document. Unless you want to debate it, you're blowing smoke up our arses.

Does anyone remember back to a time when we didn't vote into office Presidents based on whether or not they'll be willing to nuke another nation?
A time when something like the National Defense Authorization Act would have only been something in a history book or a science fiction novel?
    Does anyone remember this?

It wasn't that long ago. What will we look like in another ten years?

No matter your politics or political affiliation you simply have to vote for Ron Paul this election. The nation needs a reset that only he will provide.

Go back to your petty political squabbles in 2016 or 2020.
There are too many things at stake in 2012.

I think that Dennis Kucinich of Democrats also could be a good option.

Meh, terrorism isn't a lie, but it makes a great excuse to abuse what power you have.

Sure if you are a social democrat and he runs in 2016. But right now Ron Paul is the only person who will deviate from the status quo and actually is running for the president and has a chance of winning the 2012 election.

At some point the question of enforcement has to come into play. The chances of the US government being able to actually crack down on the internet are minimal. They just don't have the enforcement capability. There comes a point--when most people are criminals--that law enforcement just can't keep pace.

It is pretty screwed up, isn't it?

We haven't lost our republic, but we're definitely going downhill.

Granted, it's worth noting that a lot of America's peers have rules that are similar to our own Patriot Act.

For example, the U.K. government doesn't need a warrant to wiretap your home. Neither does the French one.

America still is a country that is more protective of a lot of its citizens' rights, but if the NDAA is signed into law, we'll lose most of our favorability in that measure.

We don't have many peers where indefinite detention is allowed with such vague terms.

Just joined the fascist "winners circle?" The US has been moving towards fascism since the progressive era started.

The executive can already assassinate whomever they want, including US citizens, without any judicial or congressional oversight. Getting locked up indefinitely is a step up.

So much for any rule of law. On which the US was supposed to be founded.

At least they have come clean and found a homegrown version of extraordinary rendition.

They can now be fairly compared, human rights-wise, to the likes of China, Iran and Burma without fear of contradiction.

This is an outright left wing/libertarian LIE

I've debunked this zombie lie in every thread and it just keeps coming up over and over again because you people are a bunch of naive, stupid fools!

Why don't you people quit believing propaganda garbage spewed out and read the (*)(*)(*)(*)ing law.

Paranoid Bastards, bunch of scared freaks.

Here is the actual text of the law.

Now, nowhere in section 1031 does it authorize the President or anyone else to ignore section 1032. NO WHERE.

I am BEGGING someone to prove me wrong on this. Show me where in the law it says that the President has the authority to ignore or waive section 1032

You are all believing an outright LIE because you are a bunch of hateful uninformed pricks.

First they massacred Branch Davidian in Waco Siege,
    and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Davidian.

Then they created OKC bombing, tried to get a Patriot act,
and I didn't speak out because I didn't want to offend the Feds.

Then they created 911 attack to get the Patriot Act and war,
and I didn't speak out because I am not a muslim.

Now they come for US citizens with military Authorization Act,
and I didn't speak out because I am not a terrorist.

Then when they prison you as a terrorist,
and there is no law to protect you because you have given up all your civil rights already.

The new role call in the US Congress is: HEY (insert your lobby name here), COME on DOWN... YOU'RE the NEXT contestant on... THE PRICE is right! And if successful, you COULD be a Wheel of Forture winner!.
