Congress is extending its recess until May 4 to avoid transmitting coronavirus and practice social distancing, decisions that mean the House and Senate will continue operating in skeleton form for at least three more weeks.

After consulting with Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), other senators and public health officials, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) added two more weeks to the Senate's recess, first announcing the move in a note to other senators' offices and then in a press release. The move matches a similar schedule change made by the House on Monday.

This is an absolute travesty. The country is on fire and they extend their vacation when every other people trying to maintain are still function remotely.

These a-holes need to be burning the the candle at both end, figuring out how we can pull together and get this economy going again.

Our government (not Trump solely) created this uncontrolled economic wildfire by doing poorly planned and poorly executed preventive burns to control the coronavirus. Now our small business communities are watching their life savings burn to a crisp because of government malpractice by both Democrats and Republicans.

With the Payroll Protection Program for small business out of money, they NEED to be finding ways to get more dollars into small businesses. They account for 48% of the nations employment and not saving these businesses will send millions of people into extreme poverty.

They are literally looking the role of Marie Antoinette, "Let them eat cake".

Astounding news. Amazing that TALK SHOWS can muster up teleconferencing tech and security but Congress cannot.

STEALING from you, every minute they aren't IMPRISONING YOU, and KILLING YOU every minute they aren't imprisoning, lying, overtaxing and stealing from you? Are you sick to DEATH of their lies narratives and propaganda that YOU pay for involuntarily? Sick of hearing their infinite ads about "the failures of capitalism," "the evils of earned wealth," "you didn't do that," "etc. etc.? Are you sick to death of their lying Soprano public union/contractor/grantee/MSM CRIME FAMILIES?

The non-dependent taxpayers of the private sector learned decades ago that the federal government, i.e., the gov-edu-union-contractor-grantee-trial lawyer-MSM Complex was not our friend.

It's high time that lots of other of the average people in this country, frontline government workers at all levels, social program recipients, and minorities generally learned that the Complex is not their friend either, pays bribes and crumbs while lying infinitely to the whole country's detriment and their IMMENSE enrichment.

I've had many lefties on PF tell me (I'm a small business owner) that it's just a risk you take when you own a business and to suck it up.

So that's where we stand with the dems/left.

The bill to support small businesses should be about a lot more than supporting small businesses. Things like the arts and culture and illegal immigrants getting money for breaking the law and entering our country are important too. It needs to be about issues like collective bargaining rights for the postal union and airline emissions and tax credits for alternative energy, student loan deferments, juvenile justice programs, trying to force every state to adopt voting laws that Pelosi wants to force on them regardless of state's rights and crap that has NOT A ****ING thing to do with the pandemic.

That what makes this so blatantly in your face, proverbial FU to the people who are losing everything. Matter of fact, if we as a nation were to finally rally behind something, it would be to get each and everyone of these so called Lords out of government! They've divided us and padded their pockets in the process while they feed their minions scraps.
