Whoppsie, the Republican Congress just let the children's healthcare program expire. One has to wonder if it's a do nothing Congress or if this was killed on purpose.

The same attitude as repeal and replace Obamacare. They say "we're all for it", but they fail and fail again by "just a few votes", in other words they're actually against it but they put up a show and leave it to fail by getting a few non-important people to put their neck on the line and cast their vote against it.

Well, now millions of kids' health insurance is on the line. This is definitely going into my book about why we don't vote for Republicans. I won't always remember this but I'm sure I'll have an inkling that they did something wrong, and this is it.

Most programs like that are meant to be eventually handed over to the states anyway. If the states choose to neglect their own kids, that is on them. If they really can't afford to keep that program up, they need to take a closer look at what they may be doing to increase a nonproductive and incapable portion of their population by creating untenable ecological niches for such people to reproduce--for example, welfare for babies born instead of free and readily available long term contraceptives..
