Pretty insane. I don't see how a town can legally prevent women from traveling to another state to obtain a procedure that is legal. When Roe was overturned, people said just travel to another state. Well, now they don't even want you to do that. We re seeing how anti-abortionists are now trying to prevent free travel between states. Are they going to put microchips in pregnant women next? Or make pregnant women wards of the state until they give birth?

it's a pretty sick way to support rapists and force rape victims to have their rapists babies

That is not trafficking at all and trying to control the freedom of movement for something that is legal in some states and severely restricted in other states violates the US Constitution and legal precedent when trafficking is a serious issue and a major crime in this country.

Right now, it is only Georgia and a couple of other states who are doing this, but even this issue is dividing the GOP and not all are on board.

Mar 31, 2022 — Lauren Hardy was among 9 people indicted this week on felony charges stemming from the 2020 invasion of an abortion clinic.

'Anti-Abortion Extremists Charged With Breaking Federal Law in Historic Justice Department Conviction'

Emotions ran high over the past few weeks as reproductive rights activists watched United States v. Lauren Handy et al., play out in federal court. On Tuesday, a federal jury convicted five anti-abortion defendants of federal civil rights offenses in connection with a reproductive health care clinic invasion and blockade in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 22, 2020. According to the Department of Justice, defendants were each convicted of a felony conspiracy against rights and Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act offense. Each defendant faces a potential penalty of 11 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $350,000.

The case marks the first time the Justice Department charged anti-abortion activists with a violation of the civil rights conspiracy statute, in conjunction with the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act—a historic moment in the ongoing fight to hold anti-abortion extremists accountable for their unlawful behavior.

“This important victory vindicates the rights of women, patients, and abortion providers across the country,” said duVergne Gaines, director of the Feminist Majority Foundation’s National Clinic Access Project.'

Kind of reminds me how some anti-gun States want to ignore the law and the Constitution and arrest people for having guns passing through their state.

Looks like they laid the groundwork for it.

I continue to insist all such attempts will fail 9-0 at the supreme court, and shouldn't even reach there. Regional courts should reject the laws, as the Commerce Clause is in effect and the free compact of movement.

    Superceding law overrides these attempts.

When I was young none of this was a problem. In the "PEACE! LOVE! DOPE!" era of the glorious 1960's and 1970's... every chick was on the pill... guys always had a condom and IUD's and diaphragms were available everywhere! (And there was no AIDS yet!)

Are these items no longer available?

were condoms 100% back then, did rapists wear them?

I do agree we should educate more on birth control, the reason most abortion are had by Christians is many are not taught these things

Oh really? Your assertion that abortion wasn't a problem in the 1960's and 1970's isn't true.

Plenty of states arrest people driving through the state with marijuana purchased legally in another state. Most rightists didn't care because state law...

Your graph doesn't show the 60's and the 70's are very low... like I said. A lot of depends on the subject population too. In my college days I mainly hung out with college gals I'm sure that the trends would be totally different in a population of high school dropouts "from the wrong side of the tracks". Sorry if that offends... but facts are hard to dispute.

Everyone knew this was coming. The idea is to place pregnant women effectively under complete state control, right down to freedom of movement. This won't end here. Medical records, travel records, private communications and more will all be in their sights. There won't be an end to it anytime soon.

It seems to me that limiting freedom of movement is anything but a conservative tenet. One wonders if they want to stop female motorists at the border for a pregnancy test. This nonsense is worth ignoring.

Gun and pregnant woman are same thing. This is from people who thinks “ sanctity of life “ is precious.

    Enough said.

People don’t use condom or pills .. so Government should force them to have baby.

Welcome to freedom loving, small government Republican party.

Ignoring it is your decision, but as of today, there are towns currently patrolling roads to actually implement such actions.

Your anecdotes are not facts. Sorry.

You said abortion wasn't an issue back then. The graph shows you are wrong.
