It is getting awfully old to see Republicans pretend to be libertarian like this when they want to feel superior to liberals, only to have them abandon liberty the moment they feel threatened or they want government handouts for their religious beliefs.

As an elective determinant, that is true. As the most inclusive, definitive poll of Americans, taken once every four years, it is the most accurate index of public sentiment at the time it is taken.

Hmm, I'm not inclined to suspect a deliberate objective. Its just laziness and an instinctive desire to be affirmed into the majority by identifying the minority "other". Lazy and stupid.

The big question is whether it is effective in promoting certain views and to what degree.

Wanna know why his list is funny and yours isn't? Cause his has been shown to be true and yours is a straw man.

****** lying conservatives, I should have known Foxworthy wouldn't write this kind of (*)(*)(*)(*).

It shows the main problem of conservative humorists, it's hard to get sustained laughter out of being judgmental and mean-spirited.

    Funny? True?

Maybe to someone who finds "humor" in insulting stereotypes.

Personally, I have never been a fan of Foxworthy's.

But, I am sure that sort of humor is right in the wheelhouse of people who refer to 6th grade as "their Senior Year".

Laughable at best. I simply stated a fact and you accuse me of demonizing. I didn't demonize anything I simply told you that as far as the presidency is concerned the popular vote is irrelevant. Hillary lost in 5/6 of the counties in the country. The Republicans control both houses congress and similar bodies in the overwhelming majority states. The party of the ever expanding state (aka Democrats) have two choices: 1. They can continue to do what they've done for the last eight years, which has been a complete and thorough going electoral disaster or 2. They can adapt to the changing reality and try something that might actually work.

Good comedy like George Carlin looking at the truth with a comedic spin. But it is addressing reality as it is, and not what one wants it to be.

So this is going on with Foxworthy as well. Some of his little comparisons ring true.

Dems seem incapable if introspection, and Foxworthy is kinda nudging them there, but hell no, they do not want to go. Faux liberalism is full of all sorts of denial. Being an old man, the liberalism I knew long ago is about dead, and something replaced it which is really nasty, hateful, and destructive. It is of a completely different mentality seething with authoritarianism. It is not a live and let live group. If they do not like a law, they see enforcing it as unacceptable and call it Nazism. Or enforcement racism. Clearly this group is cemented together by utter delusional thinking. So the statement trump did not win because he lost popular vote is the kind of reasoning much of these faux liberal beliefs are based on. And the area of this nation that has always been the haven of common sense rejected this kind of delusional thinking.

It was just pointing out the truth. Every word of it is correct. Libs legislate their morality and expect others to follow. Liberalism is naturally authoritarian.

If you think every tradition is protected and defended save one -- America’s own -- which must be sacrificed on the altar of diversity as hopelessly bigoted and old-fashioned, then you might be a "progressive"!

But the South is growing. I've spent a lot of time up north. I grew up there and still vacation on Cape Cod every summer. New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire ... and even New Jersey are beautiful places. But they're stagnant compared to the South. Big government is a killer.

Texas' socio-economic numbers are always hurt because of our border areas with Mexico. Dallas, Houston, and their suburbs do very well.

If you think that 65,000,000 is less than 62,000.000; You might be a Republican

That matters less than what I ate two weeks ago.

Trump played and won according to the rules. If the election was decided by popular vote, he would have campaigned in New York and California and the numbers in those states would have been different. Instead, he spent time in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Florida.

    Good grief.
