As entertaining as this forum can be, its not really a productive use of your time. Time is of the essence. Put it to good use. Its interesting to hear the libs but Conservatives arent going to convince them they are wrong. If thats your objective, you are wasting your time. If the past election couldn't open their eyes, you and I won't. Instead of pointless debate, spend your time wisely. Instead of 20 minutes a day reading adn writing posts, push your political ideas in the real world where it might make a difference. Volunteer, write letters to the editors of newspapers and magazines. Use your voice and let the politicians know that they don't have free reign over everyone. Defend your rights as best you can. 20 minutes a day can make a big difference. And I'm going to spend more time with church activities. Besides the religious aspects, it might pay a worldy dividend. If the spark of freedom is to survive, it will probably be in the church. Just like in Poland, when the people have had enough of their socialist master, the church will form a rally point for those seeking their freedom. And there is the reality of daily life. I'm pretty self-sufficiant living on a farm. I can live without the govt providing power or water or food. All the govt has to do is leave me alone and I'll be fine. I grow more truly organic food than I can eat and give away most of it. But it takes work and I can make it a more efficient operation, and I can do more to educate my neighbors and get them to be self-sufficient. I expect the next 2-4 years to be the enactment of the progressives dreams. Its going to be an eye opener for a lot of people, and it may not be reversible even if the 2014 election outsts the dems from the Senate. There are too many slaved to the govt both financially, emotionally, and ideologically. As Mises wrote, "Political ideas that have dominated the public mind for decades cannot be refuted through rational arguments. They must run their course in life and cannot collapse otherwise than in great catastrophe." Get ready.

I agree with you that not much can be gained by arguing with the Obama zombies. They have won the election and they are really full of themselves. As for changing the course of history I think we are pretty much (*)(*)(*)(*)ed. They will not stop till Americans are as desperate and poor as Obama's half brother in Kenya.
We are headed for catastrophe. When voters become so sick in mind and spirit that they will vote not in their benign self interests but along strict party lines then people are sure to suffer. I live in California, so I know.

Exactly. They think exactly what they're told to think. I'm not usually pessimistic, but this time I don't think we'll see anything change until private citizens start hitting the bottom. People have put up with 8% unemp and sky-high gas prices just because there's a black man in the WH and they'd feel bad blaming him for anything. That will begin to change as his policies start taking more money outta their pockets. Maybe when their bill for Obamacare comes in, they'll actually be able to see past his skin color to the fact he's a lousy policy maker... like conservatives have done since he first came on the scene. Being an Independent I like to stay engaged in all political views. I challenge the liberals more because the ideology doesn't make sense. I now know that it isn't based in reality and is pretty much impractical. I just hope we can survive when it collapses. Their pie in the sky thinking has done a lot of damage to our society and economy.
