Sean Hannity, Alex Jones, Tucker Carlson, Jared Kushner, Trump..... Bet you didn't know that they all secretly assisted to and obtained a medical PhD degree from Yale.
I want to hear about these scientists. You throw out the word "science" like that was the end all answer. At this time, I would hardly call anything associated with this virus a "science". The knowledge of this virus is in its infancy.
Uh no. None of those apply to me, few of them apply to any conservatives I know. What hes done is taken what some conservatives believe and mixed it with what other conservatives believe to make an apparently conflicting belief system. We're not a Fing collective and we don't have a hive mind. Within conservatism exist both pro-choice and pro-life, pro-safetynet and anti-socialism, and I personally would never expect a large degree of rationale from people who spend a large portion of their life watching rich people play ball ...which includes a dissapointingly high number of my fellow conservatives. To be fair, many conservatives do this to progressives as well, even myself on rare occassion when I'm not careful. But I do make it a point to be careful. Sometimes broad generalizations are expediantly necessary in verbal encounters. But theres no excuse for it when you're writing it out and can reconsider before smashing the send button. This tweeter (that was a tweet, right?) is a moron.
Now I will explain what will happen. This virus is not going away. Even after they come up with vaccine, it will not be 100% effective. On top of that they are already seeing mutations that are much more contagious and it is questionable whether the vaccine they are working on will work for this mutation and other mutations they are likely to see. They will reduce it to some background level and we will have to learn to live with it. Maybe a few of well engrained habits such as shaking hands will become a thing of the past. We can't keep printing stimulus money as a solution. In the long run that will just create inflation. We have to get people back to work. Probably with a whole new set of rules, but we have to get back to work.
If I said COVID was a hoax, that would be a lunatic conspiracy theory. But I have said no such thing.
Not Aldi. At least not the one in my area. I do that at Walmart, though. But they don't have the products that I buy at Aldi. CDC guidelines say it's ok to go to the supermarket, just.... wear a mask, keep your distance and follow the directions indicated by the arrows.
I have pointed out many erroneous and dangerous things you have said. Calling it a "hoax" was not one of them. However... that's the spirit of a Strawman argument, isn't it?: Attack the point the other person did not make hoping you can hide from addressing the points they did make.
Well again "If minimal interaction and less social interaction was really your top priority or concern" then surely Amazon could fill most if not all your needs.. Then again, a lot of this "Protect others" stops when comes to "The things the bleeding hearts must have" right
Once again your narrative changes like the colors of a chameleon Two ways to look at, you were being disingenuous with the person you responded to or your being disingenuous in your post here..
There is a third possibility. That you don't know what you're talking about. And given your lamentable track record in all the times you thought you found a discrepancy in something I stated, I can confidently say that it's a safe bet that nothing has changed. However, let's hear your case (if you can make one)... What is this "disingenuosity" you think you have found....
Yup that's why I posted your post and highlighted your very words in its entirety I'll shorten it this time as not to confuse you! Clearly you were wearing the mask for his protection and you also agreed with the person about it not protecting YOU
Why would I, according to you and me I've stopped at the best part! You're happy and I'm happy so we just leave it at that, I would think?
So, yet again, you make a vague insinuation that I'm ... inconsistent (I guess I believe " ) about something. But then you couldn't explain what that was. I knew this how this would end, and I said it on the very first post. Read... See? It's how these things always end with you. You see ... something... but when challenged to show it you realize you didn't have your reading glasses on.
I did not say that I believed it was a hoax. It’s obviously real. I’ve stopped going to certain retailers like Costco due to how anal they’re acting. No, people are not going to die simply because you don’t wear a mask. The people out jogging without a mask? You think they will kill someone? The people walking their dog without a mask? Will they kill someone? We really have to stop being like Costco and stop being paranoid about this. I’ve walked into a Walmart without a mask or gloves, they’ve kindly told me I should, but they can’t force me. And again, yes I know about viruses. Nothing I have said, or for the most part, is dangerous. Again, that’s the paranoia talking.
Oh? I see you don't keep up with "conservative" issues or, is that just convenient loss of memory to defend your fallacious defense?
I'm curious, if it's not too presumptuous to ask, in what state you reside; how prevalent is Covid in your community?
I live in Florida. The number of cases in my county is not as high as counties in South Florida (including Trump's). But it's creeping up as DeSantis allowed many businesses that are most definitely not essential to open disregarding CDC guidelines. Today we had one of the highest increase in the last month. But Florida just opened Friday last week. We won't see the full impact until probably next week. Incubation takes 4 to 15 days. That's when we'll see hospitalizations increasing.
That's fair, but the people he's describing are very few. Its not really a 'partisan reality' as the people he's describing aren't numerous enough to realistically have a partisan effect.
