Conservatives want to raise our taxes; hypocrisy personified

WASHINGTON (AP) — News flash: Congressional Republicans want to raise your taxes.

Impossible, right? GOP lawmakers are so virulently anti-tax, surely they will fight to prevent a payroll tax increase on virtually every wage-earner starting Jan. 1, right?

Apparently not.

Many of the same Republicans who fought hammer-and-tong to keep the George W. Bush-era income tax cuts from expiring on schedule are now saying a different "temporary" tax cut should end as planned. By their own definition, that amounts to a tax increase.



What the hell is wrong with these people? Why can't they avoid flip-flopping just once?

"Would you want taxes raised on the wealthy, or Social Security and Medicare Cut's".?

There is no truth to this at all. There is a new sheriff in town, sent by Tea Party America, and he won't budge on the issue of raising taxes. What's happening here is that the left wing media is looking for *****s in the armor. Finding none, they fabricate them anyway.

 

You DO understand that in order to raise taxes on rich people, you'll first have to eliminate the Bush Tax Cuts FOR EVERYBODY, don't you? If it was possible to throw out only those items that affect the very rich, the Dumbocrats would've already done it.

Seems strange you would refer to Republicans allowing any previous tax cuts to expire as 'flip-flopping.' Isn't that what you want them do?

80% of the Liberal left that the MSM polls,yes no surprise there.But a much sombering note the Left cant ignore is 56% disapprove of Obama ,39% approve.

 

The TEA Party is a minority of Republicans in the House. I don't think you'll see them supporting a tax hike on anybody, but the establishment Republicans and Democrats will probably still manage to shove it through.

I'm saying the reality is... ALL tax cuts have to be repealed to reinstate different tax rates. It's impossible to increase taxes on the rich without also doing so for the middle class... at least for the amt of time it takes to get a new tax bill passed.

It's already been proven the lower class pays no taxes. What's 3 x 0 in your world?

The working lower class shouldn't have to pay income taxes because they actually worked for it. The ultra rich business owners didn't IMHO.

 

Payroll taxes are BULL(*)(*)(*)(*). You pay Payroll taxes now so that later on, when you are old, you get it BACK!!!

Don't you people understand that? You can't say you are paying taxes to Social Security. It's a "tax" but it's not a revenue raising tax.

Only Income taxes raise revenue, and therefore only income taxes count. Social Security and other payroll taxes are the price you pay for having your "dignified retirement" guaranteed by the Government.. so poor people shouldn't (*)(*)(*)(*)(*).

Only income taxes matter IMO.

Personally I think he was a blue collar worker at one time who had his factory shut down and his house foreclosed on and holds a grudge against "the man" rather than himself.

Either that or he's a kid who never held a job in his life. There is no way someone can harbor the hatred and anger he has within him and hold a steady, fulfilling job and be motivated to do that job to the best of his ability.

 

Look, He's not talking about the Bush Tax cuts, He's tyalking about the Paroll tax cut put in to stimulate the economy. If its to help the rich, We got to keep that one. If its to help the economy, not so much.

 

Actually the number I saw was 83%. They had a17% approval rating
