It was an amtrak, not a first-class compact. And yes, there are different procedures used when in direct confrontation as opposed to in a public setting. Alternatively though, they could've told everyone to duck and shot his ass. Guess they wanted to catch him off guard.

I thought their job was to watch people commit crimes and do nothing about it like in the Ferguson riots but then to kill people who have committed no crime and harmed no one and was defenseless and fat...Eric Garner comes to mind.

Had he been shot immediately, it may have prevented some of the stabbings. I doubt those folks would consider it "good work".

If not for Ferguson, etc I'm more than willing to bet they would've shot the SOB. All it takes is one "duck" to isolate innocent passengers from the SOB.
