From the Guardian here: Coronavirus global report: WHO reveals fresh record rise in cases worldwide

    Extract:
This thing aint goin' away. The 2nd wave, which is typical of such infections, could well be worse than the first. It also could be much less - so we must watch it carefully.

Let's face it - this is a rerun of the H1N1-pandemic that struck the US in 1918 and killed around 675,000 Americans. We also had a pre-Covid epidemic called SARS- CoV-1 in 2002/4 , which just petered out after killing almost 8100 in China.

The result of that epidemic was that the WHO funded a research team to develop an anti-dote in but closed that effort down when, in 2012 it was realized that they could not find one.

Which means what? That we must refund the WHO and try again to develop an antidote with SARS-CoV- 2. We have no other choice. I for one hope that those developed recently will pass the solid-testing that takes months to accumulate data and call the antidote "effective".

It is evidently worth the wait and let's hope they have a better outcome than last time. The world has changed hugely since 1919. We jet around the world in less than a day and the traveler-numbers per-day across the globe are in the millions.

We, who people the earth, must find an antidote. We do not have a choice if we want to continue populating the earth ....
