I've been watching the "repeal" saga and the republican insistence that they are working on "affordable access". But all I am hearing about right now is how to allow insurance companies to lower premiums by offering up the same kind of restrictive policies that were around before the ACA. I haven't heard a single comment made about the fact that insurance rates are directly linked to the actual costs of care. I was under the impression that in that 1200 page ACA bill there were all kinds of "cost cutting measures" that addressed the outrageous disparity in pricing, profit limitations, etc. Is it just me or is this "affordable access" debate on the rationale for repeal actually gyping the american people and letting the big medical operations carry on with mega profits and no accountability? Must have missed the republicans explaining that part of the ACA in its repeal/replace talking points.
